DK CBB 1/25: Don't Get Caught Watching the Paint Dry

CHOOOOOOO CHOOOOOOOOO. That’s right ladies and gents, the death train is alive and well (all aboard Welsh and Emmitt Holt) and keeps chugging along even after a rough day. Completely missed on some games in yesterday’s slate, but the entire day was bizarro day. Hell Michigan almost even topped it off at night. But mama said their would be days like this, so in true form.. time to move on.

Today’s blog will focus on DK’s all day slate and again is GPP based. Hopefully I do a little better than today.

D’Angelo. Russell: I wondered who would be the first to 10k on CBB on DK and today we have our answer with just reasoning. Russell does everything. Probably one of the best passers in America. Will chuck it from anywhere and isn’t afraid to. He draws an Indiana team at home off a “upset” (though vegas knew better) off Maryland. Last time these two duked it out, Russell had his worst outing of the year. However, IU is still a terrible defensive team. Don’t let that slide past. I am personally not using him. I would recommend him if you can find a way to fit him in. I did in one team and will probably regret not going that route, but I feel Crean (who I think is the worst coach in America) has to put Blackmon on him and make everyone else beat him. However, Crean sucks and probably thinks he can outscore OSU. He will be extremely low owned, has a extremely high floor and even higher ceiling. If I could have found a guy around 3400 worth playing, I would have gone Russell.

Olivier Hanlan:
8700 DK. Again some may feel his price is too high. But what sold me. He put up 30 fantasy points on Virginia. Looking through stats, I can’t find anyone that has . The guy does everything for BC and draws a good matchup in Georgia Tech. I think he hits 30 with ease and will have low ownership due to his high price tag

Melo Trimble: 7400 DK. Did anyone see what Harrison did to NW the other night? Good. Because Trimble is probably going to do the same. Maryland coming off an ugly loss at IU is going to come out fired up at home for this game I think in a good bounceback spot. NW is terrible at guard and Trimble should easily reach value here. Probably my most favorite play of the day

Roosevelt Jones:
7800 DK. His price is finally where it should be after a month. Being the biggest Butler basketball bandwagon fan their is, I can straight up tell you, Jones has the ugliest shot in America. What if I told you to roster a guy who can’t shoot from farther than 6 feet out, has the ugliest ft shot in the world, has not attempted a 3 point shot in 4 years, and broke his wrist last year. Welp. I’m telling you to. He has reached value his last 5 games and is the oil in butler’s engine. He’s the energizer bunny. And for good measure, if you are a Gonzaga fan reading this. Sorry I’m not sorry. This is literally every shot he takes. Lock and load.

(Also worth a gander: Blackmon, Harrell, Okafor though read below.. I think someone else has higher value

Save Some Money

Jordan Loveridge: 5700 DK
Some may not view this as a great matchup but in a gpp tomorrow could be very sneaky. Poetl sat out the last game and if he is out again, I expect Loveridge to easily hit value. I truly recommend this only if news comes out that Poetl is still out.

Amile Jefferson: 6000 DK
Literally, there is no one on St John’s that is going to stop him. Obekpa will be on Jahill and Jefferson is going to have free range. This should be high paced high scoring and I see Jefferson with a double double easily in my opinion. Plus. Duke obviously gonna score 100 for 1000th win.

Austin Chatman 4900 DK
Zierdan broke his ankle or did something bad and is out for the year. Chatman’s still recovering from an injury and isn’t shooting well but at 4900 and seeing an increase in minutes, workload and shots, I expect him to reach value against a Villanova team that likes to run. It is a tough matchup and Creighton is reeling right now being 0-fer in the big east with out dougie fresh, but I think Chatman can get you 20 and reach 4x

Anthony Gill 5000 DK
I have a couple DK DFS CBB rules. Never roster a Kentucky Wildcat. Never roster anyone playing Kentucky. Never roster a Virginia Cavalier. Never roster anyone playing Virginia. Today I break that rule. Gill has struggled as of late, but draws a great matchup in Vtech. Yes they probably beat them by 35 and hold them to 15 points. However, Gill is the 5th highest rated player by Kenpom. Virginia has 3 in the top 5. I cannot overlook that at this price. His price has come down dramatically over the weeks. I think he breaks out for a dbl dbl here as he did the other night when he only played 26 mins but went for 11/10.

Some others worth a gander (Sam Thompson, Shannon Scott, Rysheed Jordan, Dylan Ennis)

Yogi Ferrell.
Don’t fall for the trap. Yogi only succeeds if he is knocking down the 3. He just had a career game and this is a huge let down spot. If you go anyone from IU, make it Troy Williams or Blackmon. He destroyed OSU last time and probably will again. Probably a good time to mention I hate IU fans and think they are the absolute nut low of cbb fans. Sorry I’m not sorry.. A walk on. WALK. ON.

He is in an awful spot on the road against an extremely talented Utah team. Stanford shut him down and I expect Utah to do the same.

D’angelo Harrison.
He’s playing hurt cause St. John’s always under achieves and draws a bad matchup. Just don’t like him tomorrow

Sneaky GPP plays of guys who probably will be way under owned but could just go ape

Troy Williams, Jerian Grant, Rozier, Sam Thompson, Ocatvius Ellis,

Hope you all enjoy this and if you have any questions, leave them in the comments.
Again, best of luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Good stuff man! Gill could be gpp gold. Tobey started over him last game and they are pretty much in a timeshare right now. So that situation is pretty scary honestly. Good luck!
