Draftkings Wednesday Value NBA Plays 11/20

NBA is my first love in fantasy sports and I’m inspired by the RG community and their assistance they have provided me over the two years of DFS play. I will try to make a conscious effort to blog more during the NBA season. I know when I’m playing a sport I don’t know too well such as college football it is hardest to narrow research on the value plays. I think this particularly applies in the NBA, most fans know the studs but it is the value guys that help you win. I have picked to blog about DraftKings NBA Wednesdays throughout the season. I have a new found respect for guys that do these type articles on a daily basis. Hopefully, you can check my picks out on Wednesdays and the help you build your lineups. Feel free to post a comment if I missed somebody or you think I’m dead wrong. I used the $5,000 threshold to find some value guys to pair with the studs and help you win. Enjoy!

Point Guards

Shaun Livingston BKN $3,900 – Livingston has been in “must play” status while Deron Williams nurses back from injury. Check the latest news on rotogrinders twitter page for updates on this one. Kemba Walker will really struggle to guard Livingston (6’7”) inside should Brooklyn should to do some “inside out” sets (big guys go out and guards go inside – strategy works two fold – exploits size advantage for guards and minimizes chances of “bigs” weak side help. If Deron is out then lock Livingston in your lineup. Feel free to send that basic strategy to Jason Kidd which it turns out you should have some coaching experience before trying to coach at the highest level.

Rodney Stuckey DET $4,400 – Stuckey filled the void for Billups and Bynum – Stuckey is capable as he has shown in past years the ability to score the ball at will. He can shine if given the minutes – if you haven’t noticed a theme in NBA daily fantasy, you need to stay on top of the injury news. If Billups and Bynum are out again – load up Stuckey.

Honorable Mention

Beno Udrih NY $3,000 wasn’t impressive in his start Tuesday Night but may get another shot on Wednesday, personally I won’t use him vs. stout Indy squad but he should be mentioned as a minimum price starter

J.J. Barea MIN $3,400 – a shade under 1 fantasy pt per min gets about 18.4/mpg.

Shooting Guards

Martell Webster WAS $4,300 – He is getting all the minutes he can handle with Ariza down for an extended period. Cleveland is in the bottom third of the league vs. SF which is what Webster actually plays but feel free to use the value at SG tonight

Gerald Green PHO $3,600 – Check the status of Bledsoe who appears to be doubtful on Tuesday night and may miss Wednesday as well. You could do worse than Green vs. the Kings who are a disaster defensively vs. guards. Green should be safe to pay off his salary if Bledsoe remains out.

Honorable Mention

Mike Miller MEM $3,000 – admittedly a GPP off the board type play but vs. an up tempo Warriors squad he could get opportunity to beat his average of 16.6/fpg. Tony Allen ‘s suspension could open up minutes on the wing

Small Forwards

James Anderson PHI $4,400 – He is the value play minutes king getting the most minutes for players in this price point. Anderson averaging 34/mpg and 21.4/fpg. Raptors don’t scare me defensively

Honorable Mention

Khris Middleton MIL $4,400 – Middleton has been inserted into the Bucks rotation – be weary of Ersan Ilyasova returning from injury (although he has been allegedly returning for weeks now). Portland also very good vs. SF statistically #2 in the NBA vs. SF. Could be more of the board play would go with Anderson.

Power Forwards

Josh McRoberts CHA $4,400 – “McBob” is a value blog regular as Al Jefferson continues to be hobbled but even when Big Al makes an appearance McBob still get his minutes. Is a sneaky play in that he can contribute to a variety of different categories. Brooklyn is showing its age early in the season 24th in NBA vs. PF so feel free to queue up McBob esp. if Big Al sits again.

Terrence Jones HOU $3,900 He is red hot for the Rockets and looking like a must play vs. Dallas. He is coming off a back to back but not a traditional “big minutes” guy should have plently in the legs to do a bunch of damage

Honorable Mention

Mason Plumlee BKN $3,600 – yeah that guy you didn’t want to take when looking for Miles but has shown some life – check status of KG – could get run if he sits

Jason Smith NO $3,500 – He has cooled down a bit but still getting 28.1 min per game which is good considering how cheap he is – I think Terrence Jones is the play at PF.

Center

Robin Lopez POR $4,700 – Looking like a very nice value play vs. the Bucks who cannot defend the Center position at all (24th in NBA vs. C).

Gustavo Ayon ATL $3,000 – He filled in for the injured Millsap and was terrible. Sometimes it pays to be patient – not saying Ayon is an elite talent but did show promise with the Magic last season. Detroit right in the middle of the league vs. PF.

Honorable Mention None.

    Grading the blog time

    Livingston incomplete (Deron was back)
    Stuckey – C grade 6 TOs hurt
Udrih – B grade – he was actually pretty good tonight
    JJ Barea – F – poor performance

Webster and Green both did ok – about what is expected.
Miller didn’t start but is getting run – game in progress

SF James Anderson – was good
Middleton – didn’t get enough min due to Ersan’s return (warned in the blog)

McBob was good again and JOnes was heavily owned on DK – is doing just ‘ok’ at the moment

Jason Smith ended up doing pretty good and Mason Plumlee only got 20 min but is making strides to be a good value play at some point this year

Lopez was decent and Ayon gets an incomplete as Millsap returned

next wed new blog – thanks for reading
