DreamHack Open Fall 2020 – Summary and Plays for 10/17/2020

Hello fellow CSGO Grinders!

My name is Adam Kohn and I am here to help you all crush CSGO DFS!

This blog series will be featuring the current DreamHack Open Fall 2020 event that is going on in the world of Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). I am going to be bringing you slate by slate breakdowns, or, a summary of the slate with my thoughts and a breakdown of my Core, Salary Relief, GPP plays, and Favorite Stacks (if any) for each day’s main slate matches. If you have questions for any other CSGO slates, I am available in the RG CSGO Discord chat and feel free to ask them in there. There is a fantastic group of folks in there and we all help each other out breaking down both slates and plays, giving opinions, etc.

All stats will be over the last 3 months of play against all rankings, unless otherwise noted. Some terminology for those who may not be familiar are K-D Differential or K/D Ratio (Kill to Death Differential or Kill to Death Ratio), ADR (Average Damage per Round), KPR (Kills Per Round), and +/- (Positive or Negative K/D Ratio or Differential). The pricing listed next to each player’s name is the Draftkings FLEX pricing for this slate. The advice given in this article is based on my experience of playing CSGO DFS as well as watching many of the games.

Now that all of that is out of the way, let’s get into the summaries and plays!!!

Main Slate Summary

Today’s matches are the group decider matches. The winners of today’s matches will go on to the playoffs, which start on Monday, 10/19/2020. Fnatic take on OG for the 3rd time in the last few weeks. The maps we have seen from these 2 teams have been the same the last 2 times they faced each other. I don’t expect it to be any different here, and I think we see the same 3 maps again, they are Inferno, Train, and Mirage. For Fnatic, just going off the last 2 times these 2 teams played each other, KRIMZ is the only one to have a positive K-D Differential. For OG it was mantuu. I think everyone besides Aleksib and Golden are in play for this game, and I don’t mind taking a shot on Aleksib in Large Field GPP’s only as part of OG stacks, just to get some very minimal exposure. Next up we have Heroic taking on G2. I think this goes 3 maps and I think Heroic will come out on top. All players from these teams are in play, however I would limit exposure to b0RUP, AmaNeK, and jaCkz. GODSENT take on FaZe Clan to start the 1:15pm EST games. WHY IS KJAERBYE STILL UNDERPRICED?! I think FaZe come away with the win here. I don’t think GODSENT are as good as FaZe, but as we saw yesterday, GODSENT can put up a fight. Maden was the biggest surprise of that match going +8 versus BIG. I don’t mind taking shots on anyone on GODSENT, but I wouldn’t play kRYSTAL. All players are in play for FaZe. The final match of the day has Sprout taking on Ninjas in Pajamas (NiP). I think Sprout win this match 2-0. NiP have looked terrible lately and nawwk is just returning to this roster after some time off. Sprout are very well priced, and the main 3 to target are dycha, faveN, and snatchie. The only players I want to play from NiP, in order, are REZ, nawwk, and Plopski. The problem is REZ is way overpriced at $9,400 and nawwk is a bit overpriced at $8,400, so it makes it tough to get exposure to them.

Core Plays
TeSeS ($8,000) – I think TeSeS does really well in this matchup.
Kjaerbye ($5,800) – Too underpriced… again.

Salary Relief
faveN ($6,600) – He’s about $1,000 too cheap for how good his recent stats are.
kennyS ($6,400) – He’s about $1,000-$2,000 too cheap, even though he hasn’t played like a superstar lately.
NBK- ($4,800) – Too cheap and someone to only use in your OG stacks.

GPP Plays
coldzera ($7,600) – Should have a good game in this matchup.
Brollan ($7,800) – Brollan is going to need to be on his A game if Fnatic want to beat OG.
REZ ($9,400) – Way overpriced, but the best player on NiP recently, and should be really low owned.

Favorite Stacks
FaZe Clan
Heroic
Sprout
