Far From Par-Round 2 Showdown

Greetings grinders and other forms of spiritual gangsters here to try and forget its still 2020 and the world is still a mess, but great news we have some showdown round 2 PGA to play. I don’t know how much better it can get than to work all week to pick the sure fire locks in golf only to always have that one dude that breaks your heart and shatters the chances of taking down that top prize. I realize this is a no cut event but please stick with me here. So we are working with showdown that way if anyone actually reads this or heaven forbid rosters any of these guys you won’t hate me all weekend just for that day. Like the rest of you I am working on getting people to like me for me but lets face facts you are here for picks and entertainment. Yes folks that is where I am at this point in 2020. Lets hit some disclaimers here first of all I will be using LineupHQ and the RotoGrinders projections. They are good and I like them great products keep you in the hunt for sure. Also I am partial to the Oklahoma State golfers I went to school there and I love them. I have been playing DFS plenty long enough that well my favorite team every week no matter the sport is my fantasy team except for golf GO POKES!! I just wanted anyone reading to understand that I am always going to be higher on those guys than others. We will do a short course breakdown and pick three golfers for round 2. Let’s get to work.

For the course breakdown I will keep it super simple because I am guessing you listened to at least one all ready going into the weekend. I am just going to cover the stuff I found important first of all this a no cut event. I am not sure if the guys will go for it more due to the no cut or not this weekend, but we are also looking at guys that stay away from snow men or big numbers without risking upside or takedown ability of your roster. The course has water everywhere more balls will be lost on this course due to water than any other event this year is my initial guess. While watching you might have the little ones wear the ear muffs because you might yell four letter words like “GOLF” in anger when your dude shanks one in the pond. The par fives are important here we need birdies or you are losing ground on the field. There are only two par fives and they are relatively easy (not for like me but professional golfers). So I am looking statistically at accuracy in all forms to hopefully avoid some H2O. Also par 5 scoring its a no cut event looking for all the upside. Take some risks this is the weekend to play GPPs and shot for the stars. This is also a challenging week because anyone could get hot and go low on this course. Check the weather there is a chance of rain could soften things up and allow for guys to go even lower due to course conditions. Especially for round two. There are less than 80 golfers in the field and are going out in groups of three so they will get as much golf in as possible are my initial thoughts on the rain. I only have one DFS weather man in my heart so please double check with him he is literally the only actual expert in the industry the rest of us are just out here looking to EAT!!!

Collin Morikawa $9,500
As I am writing this I have no idea how his Thursday is going but when it comes to accuracy and iron play this young cat here is as good as that gets. I even love the $9,500 price point as of now he is the most expensive guy on my roster. Its early that could change but my point is he jumps off of the page at $9,500. He is 4th in the field strokes gained tee to green and 2nd strokes gained ball striking. He seems to basically be in top form at all times. He is always a great play even this early in his career but the main statistic that stands out here for me is he is first in the field in strokes gained approach. I feel like his game fits the course. He ranks tenth in the field in Draftkings points gained. Watch his form today but I feel very confident recommending him in now. I am guessing he will be chalky but for good reason this is a spot where I will just eat the chalk and try to win a GPP at another roster spot.

Rickie Fowler $7,700
OK so here is a cowboy that I just can’t quit playing. Right now he is four under, but missed getting birdies on the two par fives. I am an optimist when it comes to Rickie so I guess that just means he birdies them both tomorrow which is what matters for this build. His stats don’t jump off of the page for me. I know that he could literally implode and ruin my entire team, but at $7,700 any player could do that to you. He just has a massive amount of upside at that price because when he is right and going strong he can finish top 10 at any tournament I am all over him. He ranks 30th in the field in strokes gained short game and if we get lucky and catch a rain tomorrow making the greens softer could give Rickie some help. He rings the bell at 28th in the field strokes gained putting and 26th Draftkings points gained in the field. Great for you guys if he plays well today the way things have gone for him since the restart he just can’t do it again tomorrow. Like I said free money guys.

Matt Kuchar $7,300
For whatever reason Matt is priced like the shoes he advertises for too cheap. I have never actually had a pair, but if we move passed the whole Georgia Tech thing he is a heck of a player. Consistency is key and this guy has it. Roster him he is a cut maker, but more than anything you can enjoy the shoe commercials more as they play through on television. I am a glass half full type fella I guess. Currently he is three under so he is off to a good start today. Statistically he ranks tenth in strokes gained putting and fourteenth in strokes gained short game. To rank that highly in the field short game wise at $7.300 there is plenty of meat left on the bone. I am not sure what exactly that even means but I heard someone smarter than me say it so I “borrowed” it. I hate to guess what his ownership might be in showdown but if his day continues at that price he should be highly owned, but my plan here again is to eat the chalk. I sometimes eat crayons though when I run low on life savers so keep that in mind.

Well guys I guess that covers my picks and if you are here for the “free money” here it is I will post 10 $10 Head to head contests on Draftkings allen69 is my username. Going forward if anyone actually picks these up I will add more, but it should be pretty easy I am playing all the dudes in the blog come get your cash friends and thanks again for making it to the bottom. I am not sure how many times I mentioned this was a no cut event but I realize I might have broke the record with that particular phrase. I appreciate likes and comments its free tips people give them out to all the blogs!! Best of Luck Lets go get this MoNeY!!
