Leave the host alone!!!! You're lucky they even perform for you bastard!!!

So I’ve been hearing people bitch about the host of the shows picks. Granted, it is a two way street depending how they do that particular day. Nevertheless, don’t bitch if they like someone and that player didn’t pan out the way you expected. It’s one thing if you were paying for their services and they were losing you money, but no one is. Hearing people bitch is as annoying to me as that guy who is jogging and runs in place till the light changes for him to cross.

Now I have to admit I was very pissed because I changed my picks a few times this NFL season due to a certain Sunday morning host. He told everyone that he didn’t like Lynch and wasn’t rostering him anywhere and I pulled Lynch out of my LU just for him to score twice and rush 100 plus. It happened time and time again to the point I was between two running backs and played the opposite of his pick and won a small GPP that day. Still, after thinking about for a while I found that I was more pissed at myself than the host and here is why.

In DFS we all feel a certain way about players and if you are like me you want justification to sit or play someone. Well truth be told, if you dig deep enough you will find someone somewhere who agrees/disagrees with you. I think there was something inside me that really didn’t want to take Lynch that day and since the host didn’t like him that was all the reason I needed to pull him out. Then if it was a bad move it wasn’t my fault, rather the host for his shitty advise. Sometimes, a host will like a guy so I plug him in and he does amazing. But most of us don’t give credit where it’s due, rather we pat ourselves on the back because it was us who took the time to tune in to the show that day.

I admit I took Keenum a few times and he killed me. The rotogrinder host didn’t really like him but I kept searching and found some people on some lame ass sites I never heard of that did like him so I took him. That was all on me and I paid for it.

The rotogrinders shows have come a long way. There was a time in baseball season (back when there was 100 viewers) where certain host liked all the players then were patting themselves of the back when they did well. I remember a one day I just couldn’t decide on a first baseman and the two host loved almost all of them. I was so pissed because it reminded me of that loser in the office who fills out ten brackets in march and brags about the one good one. But now they are telling you who they don’t like and giving you THEIR reasons why.

Nothing but props for putting their thoughts and opinions out there. Read the top of the grind down articles from Notorious. He has a disclaimer that “it’s up to you to decipher who to play”. I know grinders hate the idea of putting in their own work and I really hate the fact that fanduel and other sites show LU’s before games tip off because of that. I found out on the rotogrinder chat that people are taking condia’s LU when there is one morning game on Saturday and using it for the evening games. Really?! I’m not sure what’s more pathetic, plagiarizing his LU or telling people that you are. Also do you get pissed at condia if you lose?

Finally, just do what I do. Pretend if you were the host and give your own reasons for playing someone. Stick to your gut and if you’re really sold on a player, don’t swap him out regardless of what other people are doing. sometimes its good to zig when others zag.

On a side note, I also think it’s pathetic that there are sites now where you can pay them and they give you a LU that day. Just like those turds who have “the game of the century” on the local radio. Kind of shows you how big this industry is getting though.

Thanks for reading and feel free to comment and click that thumbs up button

Not sure why everyone is all on Condia’s horse ya he’s good but all the times I’ve playing vs him its probably 50-50 no real edge to either party…not sure why people use other lineups I mean if anything it makes me second guess myself which never seems to benefit me..

I think it’s because he obviously does well, or he’d be broke with the mass LU’s he uses. But here is the thing the new people don’t realize, he uses multiple line ups. It’s not like he makes one and sticks it everywhere for every type of game on every site

Having sites where you can buy lineups is a good idea. Just GOOGLE search ‘daily fantasy sports lineups’ or ‘daily fantasy sports manager’ there are options out there! Daily Fantasy Sports is growing, and if it gets as big as it looks, I wouldn’t be surprised to see lineup brokerages open up where pros make lineups for joes and take a cut of the winnings; seems like this type of service is inevitable if you ask me especially with the rich people that play every entry in every GPP and every league going. The sooner the GPP’s become SINGLE ENTRY (all of the GPP’s)the sooner there will be a clearer look at who is the best in DFS. There isn’t really any way to prove who is the best. All this industry does is reward the deep pockets. ALSMIZZLE can afford max entries in every GPP…good for him – does that really make him the best? Sorry for the ramble but this industry is headed for a disaster if it doesn’t start to even the playing field and lineup sites are just one way for the middle of the pack bankrolls to compete with these guys with tons of cash and tons of time!!

Its almost stealing at that point, but who really cares….

There are sites now…these sites (or at least one of them – DFSM) have been around for 3 years!

well first off, the people who watch the grinder shows make up for a small percentage of the players in the field. I played in a 50 man DK grinderslive show tourny and found the player percentages were a lot different than what it was in the 100 man 50/50. For example, Durant was 45% owned the grinders tourny and only 20% owned in the regular game.

If you are dumb enough to buy a LU for the day then more power to the guy selling it. They don’t take a percentage of the winnings, they take a fee for the picks and they win even if you don’t.

There are plenty of single entry tournaments and just because AL has a big bank roll, he grinds most of his entry’s with the qualifiers. When you play DFS for a living then yes, you do have more time then most people because it’s your job! Not going to hold that against him

“Dumb enough” – paying someone that has the time to make the picks but doesn’t have the bankroll to play them isn’t dumb. Calling it dumb makes you dumb (what a brutal word) or more less ignorant to the fact that buying a lineup maybe better than sitting at your computer for 5 minutes and throwing a team together because you didn’t have time to come here and be told what to pick! Plus with buying a lineup you are buying something that takes time – if you call someone to get the winner between two teams (as been done with bookies for DECADES) than essentially you are paying for a 50/50 pick. At least with DFS lineup sales there is a point where you are actually getting someone’s effort and not the flip of a coin. I would say RU18QT is being beat or has been beaten by someone buying lineups, either that or your just beating it down so others that can afford these types of services don’t go looking for them. Either way, you are posting for the betterment of yourself; just like EVERYONE else here.
