Lingerie Football League Fantasy: Week 1 Picks

Handicapping Week 1 in the LFL

rg misc lfl 2

Welcome to my blog about the clueless value plays and general mishmash around fantasy sports. If you don’t know already, the Lingerie Football League, consisting of half-naked ladies whom are former college athletes (you might have seen them in a recent pictor…….um, printed documentary) has started its own official Weekly Fantasy Games.

Week 1 kicks off tonight (8/26) @ 10 pm ET/9 pm CT on MTV2. For the first time, this will be a live full length game on National Television. Might be worth a “peek” if your remotely interested. From a fantasy standpoint, the Lingerie Fantasy League is hosted by Fantazzle. Prizes include: Autographed Tshirts/Hats/GameBall, LFL Game Tickets, LFL Shop/Fantasy Game Credit weekly prizes. The overall grand prize is all expenses paid trip to Lingerie Bowl IX in Las Vegas. Now on to the Valueless Fantasy Picks:

LFL Value Picks

First of all, there are no so called experts, including me in Fantasy Lingerie Football. There are five new expansion teams this year, and a couple of previous teams whose status is unclear. You can find more info on the LFL teams “here.” After listening to the LFL commissioner’s inaugural podcast, he said even he didn’t know the best players and the so called fantasy experts of LFL are pulling info from preseason footage and practices. Basically that is it.

The rumor on the street is that: The Quarterback position and financial utilization of 2nd/3rd/4th string players will be the key to victory. I won’t tell you my complete strategy, but I believe it is best to have all players that pay both sides of the ball, especially backup Quarterbacks who are some times Defensive Studs.

The Weekly Fantasy roster is as follows:

$1,000,000 Fantasy Cap

QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, Off Flex, Def Flex, Def Flex

Week One: Minnesota Valkyrie vs. Green Bay Chill, yes only one matchup per Fantasy Week.

Since it seems that QB is the most important position in Fantasy LFL (as almost all Fantasy Football Leagues) There are four quarterbacks available for selection: Anne Erier (GB – $250,000), Jana Skrtic (Min-$100,000), Leslie Bowman (GB-$150,000), Jocelyn Bendijo (GB $60,000)

My intial thinking is Anne Erier vs. Jana Skrtic is the make or break decision this week in Fantasy LFL. So naturally this being the first week of both teams, I went with higher priced player as Quarterback is the key position in Fantasy LFL. Since Jana Skrtic is a quarterback and starting, I used her for flex as a LFL rule, each team must PASS every 2 of 4 plays. Thus the Flex of Skrtic, I feel will give me the “studs”. It is unclear if Skrtic will play defense, if so that is icing on the cake. Also, Bowman according to “LFL experts” is a stud on defense, so I put her into one of my Defensive Flex, and handcuff to Erier if the unfornuate happens.

On to RB, Minnesota has the highest priced Running backs as well as the best RB preseason rankings of any LFL team on LFLus website. Since Green Bay is a pass heavy team, it makes the most sense to use Minnesota Running backs. The most expensive option @ 250,000 (Leekplay Paye) is undoable because of my pick of Erier. Minnesota is also known to have Two very good backs, and since this is a new team it is uncertain who the workhorse will truly be until live action takes place. Here I go with the “strong” backup with Lisa Bastien for $150,000 who I consider the must lock player of the week. I truly believe any team without Bastien on the roster will not compete this week, very much so if Bastien turns out to be the lead back. My “backup” is third string Minnesota (strong RB core) running back Leah Perzchilli, who accoring to a few on LFL feel she also a better than average Defensive player. It should be noted that Jennifer Dennison of GB is on the injury report this week and will not play, effective changing some of the LFL writers early picks.

For WR, this is really where most players will spend least amount of Cap money. The gem of WR’s is Minnesota player Meierotto and Greenbay’s Peyton who most feel is too expensive to spend that kind of cap money on a Wide Reciever for Week 1 ($250,000 each). Meierotto is supposely the fastest player on the field competing tonight. Two GB wideouts are reportly out as well is: Richie and Lamal, so I went with the #2 WR in GB along with cheapest GB WR as I expect GB to be a passfest with: Morgan (60,000) and Zellner (150,000) (Also, Zellner is supposely gonna be a big time threat/player on Defense)

Offensive Flex: Jana Skrtic (see above)

Defensive Flex: Leslie Bowman (see above)

Defensive Flex #2: Jocelyn Bendijo, average defensive player who is also a backup QB.

Read above for Flex Pricing. Again, my basic strategy for Flex is to pick two way players and/or Quarterbacks galore. I feel I accomplished that with my picks!

My Team

  • QB- Anne Erier ($250k)
  • RB- Lisa Bastien ($150k)
  • RB- Leah Perzchilli ($60K)
  • WR- Zellner ($150K)
  • WR- Morgan ($60K)
  • OFlex- Jana Skrtic ($100K)
  • DFlex- Leslie Bowman (150K)
  • DFlex- Jocelyn Bendijo ($60K)

Total: $980,000/1,000,000

As of press time, the Green Bay Chill’s starting lineup as been posted as follows (Minnesota Valkyrie not available)

With Lamal and Richie out, and with McDonald activated
