MLB Data Detective - On hold, hope to be back soon...

For anyone wondering why I abruptly stopped blogging two days into the season, my MLB data source (MLB.com) cut off data access to the general public. They apparently only offer data directly to MLB teams and affiliates. I toyed with the idea of continuing to run my app using only historical data that I have saved from the last few seasons, but I decided against it since it would result in my projections slowly growing stale as the season progresses. As such, I will stop blogging until I find a new data source that can provide the MLB play-by-play logs and other data that my app needs.

Speaking of which, I believe I have found an alternate source (which MLB.com support recommended) so hopefully I will be back up and running before too long. I will need to we-write portions of my app to transition to the new data API, so it might take some time. In the meantime, good luck with your DFS lineups!
