My first Blog post, ever.

Hello RG Community!

I am new to DFS, and have been spending more and more time on the RotoGrinders message forums lately, so I figured I would start a blog. I have never blogged before on any website, so I am new to this. I love sports, especially baseball. I made a small deposit on FanDuel a year ago, went busto pretty quickly so I stopped playing because I figured I couldn’t beat the rake and the sharks. I didn’t really do much research and didn’t realize the importance of player salary value. I would roster MadBum every time he took the mound, because he was a beast, and just fill in positions around him. It didn’t go too well for me.

Recently, I decided to start playing again. Not really sure why I started, I think it is because if my competitiveness, and wanted to see if I could be a winning player. I used to play online poker from 2005 – 2010, and for a couple of those years I was a high volume player who multi-tabled anywhere from 8-24 NL cash tables at once. I was basically a break-even player, and was only profiting off the rakeback. I did however get super lucky and happened to hit the Absolute Poker Bad Beat Jackpot for a score of $133k. Other than that, it was just a slow grind and it was not getting me anywhere.

That was years ago. Even if online poker was still really prevalent in the US, I don’t think I would still be playing. I just don’t have the time for it anymore, so maybe that is why I found DFS. I play mostly 50/50s and Double Ups at FanDuel, DraftKings, and Yahoo. I mostly stick to MLB games, since that is the sport I understand the most. I grew up playing baseball and just love the sport. I follow the MLB very closely, and I am knowledgeable of other sports also, but not enough to feel comfortable playing. Perhaps with the MLB season winding down, I may pick up NFL or NHL, but we will see.

Ok, I think that is enough for an introduction. I am excited for the MLB playoffs. I was excited to see the Astros take down the Yankees yesterday. Anyone hear/see that Brett Gardner got booed by the home crowd after going 0-4? Kind of messed up; tough crowd out there in NY. I will blog periodically, see you guys around.
