NFL Core Draughts

Week 8 Review

Week 9 is my first week blogging so I will walk through my last week from my notes then going forward, I will have this blog as a reference. I went focused on paring up a QB with a pass catcher (wound up being a TE) and then locked a top RB with a value receiver. Grabbing a value receiver can sometimes be like throwing darts at 1am after a dozen beers.

I was set to go to Wentz because of the matchup with the Niners. I honestly thought he would put up some more points but so did 26% of the other people. My next step was to figure out who to pair him up with.Alshon or Agholor – the sad thing is I wound up putting in Agholor which was not a good choice but he was not one of my locks by my last primary position filler. Ertz is the man, especially when it comes to red zone targets. Ok, so I settled on Wentz – Ertz..

Wentz – 18.14 pts
Ertz – 11.4 pts

Next up – RB. I am a Cowboys fan and my first instinct is going to the well with Zeke (20% owned). It was good matchup against WAS and I know he is going to get the ball at all ends of the field.

Zeke – 25.9 pts

Finally, grab another beer and let’s see how this plays out. I wanted to get some exposure to PIT v DET. Bell was pricey and so was Brown. Plus, both of those might be heavily owned. JuJu was the man who is on the rise. Some weeks this works out and I hit a bullseye and others I hit the wall. JuJu obvoiusly pulled this one out big time and I screamed like a little girl when I saw run that 92yrd TD..

JuJu – 28.8

Core Points – 84.24
GOAL – 100
Difference – Short 15.76

I was only 1 Wentz/Ertz TD away from my goal this week

My highest GPP last week was 154.44 (and when I can figure out this blogging thing, I will enter in my top final GPP Linup image)

Week 9

Where to spend this week? So many options. HOU v Ind is definitely some chalk but will be pricey.

QB – going to fill in for this. Watson is high priced but lots of value out there – (Alex Smith v Dallas, Drew Brees v TB, Wentz v Broncos.. who knows maybe a sneaky Mallet v TEN)

RBLOCK *** HUNT (KC) He’s going to get the ball. I am a huge Cowboys fan but I know they are going to pound the crap out of the Cowboys Def

RBLOCK *** WILLIAMS (MIA) Ajayi is off to Philly and Williams still has a nice $4,500 price tag. Plus the Raiders defense is generous. Could be a big payout.

WRLOCK *** HOPKINS (HOU) While I am not paying up for Watson, might as well reap some of his rewards, 31st against the pass..

WRLOCK *** FUNCHESS (CAR) With Benjamin off to the Bills, he is going to get the targets. It will be a good week to see how much he can really handle. I would have went with Benjamin if the Bills game was on the main slate but this seems to be viable pick this week against one of the worst teams for turnovers and points allowed.

TE – lots of good value out there, Davis is going to be main target if Reed is out, Griffin is going to get some love in Hou, is Graham back on track since arriving SEA?

Anyway, this is my 2 cents and no change back! Enjoy the games and a few beers! Let’s see next Monday how it looks.
