Ripking's Ramblings and Rumblings

I’ve been grinding since about mid-march and let me tell you, I’ve had more fun than an all you can eat buffet on an empty stomach. I think the main reason I’m enjoying it so much is unlike poker, you don’t have to lie to win. You just have to trust your research and cross your fingers that Demarcus Cousins doesn’t beat the crap out of a ref, Andre Ellington doesn’t gets screwed out of another touchdown by old man mendenhall, or AROD gets caught with Jose Canseco at a steroids bar. I must say reading the daily plays, Grind down’s and listening to the daily podcasts have been a HUGE help. Not to mention all the daily research material that is available free of charge. Sure you can pony up 50 bones for the additional incentives, (which I also recommend and did) but the free stuff is a great start. As of Sunday November 24th i’m in 20th place in the DK NFL $1.5K NICKEL (THURS) [$1,500 GUARANTEED) I’m not sure I will place based on the talent tomorrow, but this is the closest I have come. So here is my lineup for week 12 and my reason for picking them. I just want to give a big shout out to everyone that has given me great advice over at Rotogrinders. Db730, ehafner, stlcards, csurram88, beermaker’sfan, notorious, headchopper, napsterman and the legendary alsmizzle.

QB: Tom Brady: He is a major stud and one of the best qb’s of all time. He is playing the Broncos. Tom has a chip on his shoulder that peyton get’s all those car commercials and will want to put up a great game.
RB: Zac Stacy: This guy reminds me of OJ Anderson from the old school St. louis Cardinal’s days. He is a great runner and should be one of the highest scores of the week.
RB: Andre Brown: Another guy who should get the bulk of the carries on the Giants. The only thing that scares me is a vulture named brandon jacobs could come down and take a td or two away from him. I also hear the weather in NYC sucks, oh and so does eli manning. He’s no peyton. Although he has also been in more commercials than Tom Brady.
WR: Vincent Jackson: He is more inconsistent than Kerry Von Erick’s world title run in 1983, but you gotta love the matchup. Detroit is not very good defending the pass. VJax is very good at catching the ball and Mike Glennon likes to throw to him. I like his odds.
WR: Jarrett Boykin: I’m still sad that Aaron Rogers has been replaced by some guy that sounds like an accountant and not a starting QB, Scott Tolzien, however he seems to favor Boykin more than James jones or Jordy Nelson at this point and he’s only 4700 on DK.
TE: Coby Fleener: THis was a tough one. I wanted to pick Gronk. Don’t make gronk mad. Gronk Smash. However, i didn’t want to spend 7900 on him. Arizona is the worst against the TE and they happen to be playing the colts this week. In addition to partying like rockstars in college with Andrew luck, they also seem to have a good repoire LIke ashford and simpson, or Bogey and bacall.
Flex: Pierre Thomas: At first I had Frank Gore. He is a major stud. He always get’s hurt at some point in the year and i’m sure it is coming soon. Speaking of hurt and not the big hurt frank thomas, Darren Sproles is out. Brees will dump balls off to someone and Marc Ingram is a bull in a china shop and the football is a priceless vase than he will drop and break. Thomas for $5900, yes please.
Kicker: Garrett Hartley: a wise man once said “pick a kicker in a dome” The falcons play in a dome. Tina turner didn’t need another hero in Thunderdome, and $3000 is a great play for Hart to Hartley.
Defense: Ravens: Has anyone else noticed the jets aren’t very good on offense. They remind me of that kid in high school that tried to hard to be cool and everyone just thought he was a putz. Those are the jets. The NFL’s version of putzes. I think the Ravens will eat Geno’s pizza for dinner!

Let’s make some dough ray mi!!
