Stevie's Star Selection 3/5
Lebron James – $11,700
- Played 40, 39, 39, 42 minutes last 4 games. Minutes are secure
-2nd highest total of the night (still waiting on suns/heat)
-No Tristian Thompson, could see increased minutes at the 4 in a small lineup which can help with peripherals
-Pistons allow 4th most assists per game and Lebron is averaging 46.6% of teams total assists in last 5 games (10.8 per game). Shouldn’t be a problem getting assists to help secure that triple double bonus we all search for.
-Would need 58.5 DKP for 5x (value), has consistently been reaching that with upside in the high 60’s
In my opinion, Lebron makes for the perfect cash game play on todays slate. Not only has he been consistently reaching value based upon his current price tag, but he shown he has massive upside. As stated, the Pistons allow the 4th most assists per game, and Lebron has already been averaging 10.8 in the last 5 game span. Pairing that with the potential minutes he could see at the 4 to help his rebounding numbers, a triple double this game is likely.
Damian Lillard – $9,700
-Hit 47 DKP in only other time these teams have met this season. In this game, he shot only 17 FGA while he’s now been averaging 20.5 FGA over his last 10. He also got no steals or blocks that game, while also averaging 1.4 steals per game over the last 10.
Minutes never in question, always sees consistent minutes in the high 30’s, gives us a solid floor.
Last 10 games he has a 33.9% usage
Lakers are 1st in pace and a terrible defensive team
Laker allow 1st most DKP per game against opposing PG’s
In my opinion, Lillard makes for another solid cash game play today. Game log watchers may be scared off him because you do see a few games only hitting the upper 30DKP, but the pace of play and matchup create the perfect spot for Lillard tonight. On top of that, it’s a close 2 game spread in LA, so we should see the full allotment of minutes.
Andre Drummond – $9,500
-Destroyed the Cave in last meeting, hit 71 DKP
-Cavs allow 8th most DKP per game against Centers
-Consistently seeing mid to high minutes in the 30’s
-Game log watchers could be scared, only hit returned value based off today’s price 3 times in last 10 games, but has massive upside.
-Cavs are without Tristin Thompson, no big body to throw on Drummond
-Cavs allow 8th most rebounds per game which is Drummonds forte
On today’s slate I believe Drummond makes for the perfect GPP play. His price has been on the downward trend and i’m a big fan on the “buy low sell high” approach on guys who have the potential upside Drummond can bring, especially in todays matchup. Drummond’s Rebound:Point ratio are typically around a 1:1 ratio. With the Cavs lazy defense and giving up the 8th most rebounds, while Drummond is 1st in the NBA for offensive rebounds, the game environment sets up him to feast and potentially see that 20:20 game we know he’s capable of. The only thing taking me off Drummond today is abundance at the center position. With other guys at other positions who I rather pay up for today, center will most likely be the spot i’m paying down for.
Giannis Antetokounmpo – $10,400
-Not great history, 54, 34, 50 DKP in 3 meetings against the Pacers this season
-Pacers allow 6th least points in the paint last 5 matchups
-Plays high 30’s to 40 minutes per game
-2nd leg in back to back after playing 42 minutes last night
Today seems like a great slate to fade Giannis, he always does have 60 point + upside so I never mind a few GPP darts though. I’d rather go ~$1k up for Lebron or ~1k down for Lillard in cash games for sure. At his current price tag, he’d need 52 DKP to hit value. It’s certainly doable but again, given the factors of a
