The 6/19 Daily Round-Up
Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Daily Round-Up. The previous version of the Round-Up was a little much to maintain on a daily basis. I have a stupid real job and cannot devote all day to Daily Fantasy. That job does provide frequent daily breaks though and opportunities to do this blog. Check out the new format and let me know what you think. There won’t be as much detail, but the snarky humor will remain intact!
The Strong Arm
Cliff Lee – The big Clifford mowed down the Nats. The threat of a flood of Biblical proportions in Philly last night had most us scared off of Cliff. One person I’m sure had him in his line-up was the ole PhilyBadBoy
The Big Wood
Matt Dominguez – The Houston third base-minder was no doubtedly singing Figaro, Figaro, Figaro Figaro Figaro! all night as he rounded the bases. (I realize his HR was off of Gorzelllllalalallaalany, but I felt like I needed that joke). Kid has 10 HR’s on the year. Anyone noticing him yet?
Zack Wheeler – A solid outing against the K Happy Braves was greeted with a return ticket to AAA. Kid must’ve thought it was weird when they told him to buy a round-trip ticket. Yup, both tickets were for you Zack.
Hindsight is 20/20
See: Wheeler, Lee – Really wish you would’ve taken the chance on these two last night? Yup, me as well.
The Wednesday Top 5
5 Hottest Hitters of the Past Two Weeks
1) Carlos Gonzalez – Cargo continues his domination of all things baseball averaging 5.4 FD PPG for the period. If you’re still fading him, it is time to stop now Mac.
3) Austin Jackson – See “Giancarlo Stanton” 4.4 PPG, hitting at the top of the Tiger’s line-up. He’s outscoring Miggy, for a fraction of the price. 8 out of 10 Grinders agree: Get Austin in your line-ups. The other two are just being stubborn.
4) Albert Pujols – Look out kids, Albert’s back. He’s got 16 hits in the last 10 games, including 3 HR’s and is putting up 4.1 PPG.
5) Mike Trout – Albert’s stablemate in Anaheim is just behind him with 4.0 PPG. Right now a nightly Trout/Pujols iddy biddy stack isn’t a bad idea.
Hot Lunch Special of the Day
A Player Under 3k on FanDuel Guaranteed to Give the Opposing Pitcher a Hot Lunch
Russell Martin – Russell the Muscle has been uber-consistent the last few weeks. He’s still very reasonably priced on FD at 2.9k and has been hitting 5th or 6th in the Bucco’s line-up. Seems like every night they raise the Jolly Roger at Three Cricks, Russel has a hand in the points. Was putting up a lot more points when he was hitting 2nd with Marte out, but has still been having solid games.
Happy Grinding! May your punts be Hall of Famer Ray Guy-esque and go looooong!
