The 6/27 Daily Round-Up
Been a few days for the Daily Round-Up. Unfortunately I’ve been busy with the real job and have only had time to really do line-ups and not any extra activities.
Today is going to be a different turn for the Round-Up as well. I took up a challenge from AlSmizzle, and I’d love to share the results so far.
Yesterday in GrindersLive Al mentioned that some people think that playing multi-entry tournaments (even the low stakes ones) on DraftKings is not worthwhile because the experts with deep bankrolls can go on there and throw in 10 entries and stack them and cover all the possibilities, so there is no chance to win. I believe his quote was something along the lines of: “Take $20, join the moonshot 10 times and see what happens (sic).” So, around 6:20 PM yesterday, I decided to enter the Moonshot 10 times. Here’s what happened…
I took the 6 teams that I thought had the best match-ups yesterday and started to stack them. About 6:22 I realized that stacking a full roster and having halfway decent starting pitching is not really an option anymore on DraftKings. Then I discovered my savior: Luis Mendoza versus the Braves for $5k. Was it too good to be true? If he could get 15 points he would cover value! (He ended up with 18.8, no thanks to his bullpen. Too bad all my stacks with him forgot to show up… I’m looking at you St Louis with your awesome first inning, then apparently you succumb to the bewitching ways of Eric Bedard.) I managed to stack 7 teams (Tex, Det, NYY, Bal, Phi, StL, NYM [contrarion play]) and then one entry with a mini-StL stack. I also entered my favorite line-up 3x’s because the field was starting to fill and I didn’t feel like stacking anyone else. So 8 unique entries and here were my results in the 720 man field (Top 150 Paid).
50th – 3x’s Hamels/Kershaw w/ Tex stack – $4.16 each.
111th – Kershaw/Mendoza w/ StL stack – $2.50
212th – Hamels/Mendoza w/ Det stack
269th – Hamels/Alvarez w/ NYY stack
447th – Hamels/Kershaw w/ StL mini
458th – Hamels/Lynn w/ Phi stack
661st – Feldman/Gallardo w/ Bal stack
677th – Hamels/Marcum w/NYM stack
So I put in 10 LU’s, my 3x line-up cashed and I was net -$5 for the night. So, it’s not just as easy as going over there and throwing in 10 line-ups and winning. I’m trying again tonight, will report back tomorrow with my results tonight.
