The Curious Case of the Memphis Grizzlies
Well, the Spurs stunk it up last night and got blown out by the Warriors. The Spurs value was poor and no one can say they are surprised. I’m just hoping Portland beats them by 50 tonight to make the tv back-to-back totally demoralizing for these scrubs…. Ok, now that that is off of my chest, let’s look at tonight’s slate. The slate starts and finishes with Memphis value. There are some other places to go (Toronto perhaps) for value, but Memphis is the most obvious spot. Pace up game versus OKC. Very tight rotation. High usage for a few players who will likely see 30-35+ minutes easy. So, why am I feeling hesitant about going back to the well? Rabb, Jaren Jackson and Holiday all scare me tonight. Prices are up somewhat on all sites, but still represent “cheap” prices. My issue is the potential for foul trouble for both Rabb and JJ versus Steven Adams and Jerami Grant. Also, matching up against Adams is never an easy spot (unlike matching up against the TWolves bigs a couple nights ago). Holiday is such a low usage player who can disappear that I don’t feel comfortable paying up a bit for him versus the Thunder. One player that does peak my interest is Mike Conley. With Shelvin Mack heading back to Atlanta, Conley could get almost all the minute. Plus, he is the highest usage player on the Grizzlies and often thrives in up-and-down games. I am willing to give him a shot this evening.
Good luck to all in their contests tonight. Well, except for LeBron James as I hope the Celtics blow out this Lakers team that Bron is now stuck with for the rest of the year.
