NASCAR Trucks - UNOH 200

Stevie gives an in-depth look on the Truck race for the weekend. This article will be posted after qualifying each weekend.

With same day qualifying, we’re changing up the process for the XFINITY and Truck Series articles. I will be working on getting a preview type of article up by Thursday for XFINITY and Friday for Trucks. I will have core, tournament, and value tags on LineupHQ for same day qualifying races.

UNOH 200

This week we head to Bristol Motor Speedway for the UNOH 200 on Thursday night at 9pm ET. This is the first race of the round of 8, and with Talladega in this round, this is a big race for the Truck Series. The Truck Series didn’t run Dover earlier this season, so I’ll be looking at recent Bristol data, practice data, 2022 raw speed, and a few other small things. The stages are 55, 55, and 110, which is a total of 200 laps. With 200 laps, we’re looking at 90 potential fastest lap points and 50 laps led. Two of the last three races have had over 11 cautions, but looking at the last ten races, seven of those races have been under six cautions. With this race meaning so much and the potential strategy, I want to focus on two dominators.

Looking back at recent Bristol data, I think Chandler Smith and John Hunter Nemechek are the favorites to win this race. Sheldon Creed and Brett Moffitt have dominated the fastest laps and laps led in the last three Bristol races. Tyler Ankrum has shown some big upside and could be a big play depending on where he’s starting. Kraus and Taylor Gray could be solid value plays as well. I also put down .25 unit on Matt DiBenedetto to win this race, and I grabbed a top five at +600. He was great at Bristol in the Cup Series, and I could see him being strong this weekend. With no track comps this season, practice is going to matter this weekend. Luckily, with Bristol being a short track, we should get some solid practice data.

DraftKings – Starting Position on the Left, Potential Finishing Position on the Top

Core Plays – John Hunter Nemechek, Zane Smith, Raja Caruth

GPP Plays – Chandler Smith, Ty Majeski, Matt DiBenedetto

Value Plays – Jack Wood, Lawless Alan
