The New Jersey Devils will take the ice tonight sitting in the cellar of the Metropolitan Division, and have been heading in the wrong direction after a perfect 4-0-0 start to the season. New Jersey hit rock bottom in a 7-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday and things won’t come easy tonight as they continue their brutal seven-game road trip tonight in Toronto having dropped seven of their last night games. With that said, they do offer plenty of DFS appeal as their top line of Taylor Hall, Nico Hischier and Kyle Palmieri have been putting up big numbers all season. These three have combined for 16 goals and 27 assists in 13 games this season and should benefit tonight from Toronto being the second fastest pace team in the entire NHL (122.49 CP60). With 11 other teams in action tonight, digging much deeper into their forward depths seems unnecessary. On defense, Will Butcher has taken over the duties as the point-man on their #1 power-play unit and he’s off to a fine start with eight points (seven of them coming with the man-advantage). Alternatively, Damon Severson and Sami Vatanen are also putting up similar offensive numbers and share the duties on the point of the second power-play unit.
