NHL Grind Down: Monday, November 26th

The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

Remember, these writeups are done prior to lineups being released, so make sure to check our Starting Lineups page to ensure the recommended options are playing.

The injuries to Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie haven’t affected the Capitals one bit as they have run off five straight wins in a row. They have also scored 20 goals in those five games that has seen the return of Tom Wilson have the most impact on the team. Wilson’s three goals and five assists have helped the team through a tough time while skating with Alexander Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom. Lars Eller has been centering Jakub Vrana and Brett Connolly on the second line so one has to wonder how long this current win streak can last with a second line like that one. Vrana has been okay as he has notched five of his 14 points over the last five games. Connolly and Eller have produced more than expected as well as they have 13 and 12 points respectively while playing most of their games outside the top six. Defenseman John Carlson is the one to target here as he has recorded 12 of his 25 points when quarterbacking the team’s top power play.
