NHL Grind Down - Saturday, November 24th

The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

Remember, these writeups are done prior to lineups being released, so make sure to check our Starting Lineups page to ensure the recommended options are playing.

Washington Capitals at New York Rangers

Although the Capitals have been without Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie the last four games this Washington team has managed to come away with the ‘W’ in all four of them. Their 7-3 record has them vying for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division as they prepare to take on the New York Rangers who are right on their heels. Alexander Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom will serve as the chalk here as they skate on the top line with Tom Wilson. Lars Eller has been joining them on the power play while moving into the top six due to the injuries as he centers Jakub Vrana and Brett Connolly at even strength. Be careful here however as Washington has scored just five power play goals on the road so far this season. Ovechkin leads the team with 16 goals while Backstrom’s 19 assists leads the team. John Carlson is the choice on the back line as he has grabbed 12 of his 22 points while quarterbacking the team’s top power play unit.
