Despite winning just two of their last eight games the Boston Bruins are still hanging on to the seventh playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. As with all teams that hit slumps throughout the season the Bruins have been coming up on the short end of the deal when it comes to secondary scoring. David Krejci has been the best scorer outside of the top line as he has grabbed six of his 40 points over the last seven games. That cannot be said about his 5×5 line mates as Peter Cehlarik and Jake DeBrusk have combined for just two goals and two assists over that time frame. Even fourth line players Sean Kuraly and Chris Wagner have compiled more points than that as they have lit the lamp three times to go along with four assists over the last three weeks. Defenseman Torey Krug is the play on the back line as he has registered 21 of his 34 points while quarterbacking the team’s top power play unit. Krug has only played in 40 games this season so taking a look a Mike Grzelcyk would be a stretch while Charlie McAvoy seems to be slumping as well as he has grabbed just one assist over the last seven games. With no disrespect to Calgary’s top line the Bruins line of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak should be the highest owned line of the day as they all are in the top 20 in terms of grabbing a point-per-game.
