NHL Grind Down: Sunday, March 10th

The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

The Red Wings have surely had their problems this season as they will probably be eliminated from the play-odds sometime over the next week or so. This is not your father’s Detroit hockey club that screams to have the talent of the Yzerman, Federov and Fetisov’s of the world. With Dylan Larkin and Mike Green out of the line-up the top line of Tyler Bertuzzi, Andreas Athanasiou and Anthony Mantha has the best shot of scoring this evening as they have combined for 11 goals and 13 assists over the last 10 games. Frans Nielsen, Filip Zadina and Thomas Vanek will skate as the team’s second line while players like Darren Helm and Justin Abdelkader take their rightful spot on the lower lines. With the injured Larkin leading the team with 62 points and the traded Gustav Nyquist second on the team it’s easy to see why they team has won just one game over the last 10 games. In Green’s absence both Filip Hronek and Niklas Kronwall have been able to find the score sheet with a little more frequency as evidence of both having put up six points over the last three weeks from the back line.
