NHL Grind Down: Thursday, November 8th

The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

Remember, these writeups are done prior to lineups being released, so make sure to check our Starting Lineups page to ensure the recommended options are playing.

Game Overview

The lowly Vancouver Canucks head to Boston in what shapes up to be the most lopsided game of the night on paper.

You can make arguments for a few others, but in my opinion, the Bruins’ top line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak is the best in hockey, and this sentiment is backed up by a simple click at their raw results where the three have combined for 53 points in 42 games, while also being anchored defensively by Patrice Bergeron, who is without question, the best defensive center in hockey as well.

While Vancouver’s weirdly decent start in the standings might not make them seem so bad, they are being driven by an unsustainable shooting percentage, and they are still in the bottom five of the NHL in goals allowed.

It’s also nice to see Torey Krug back out there and he is an elite play on defence on the powerplay, while Jake DeBrusk rounds out that top powerplay unit.
