NHL Grind Down: Tuesday, February 12th
The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.
The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

While Artemi Panarin has had an Anthony Davis like openness to his desire to leave Columbus, you can’t question his work ethic on the ice. Panarin leads the team with 62 points, and helps drive one of the best lines in hockey with Atkinson and Dubois.
On paper, most consider Washington to be a tough matchup, but they have actually been one of the worst defensive teams in hockey if you trust the numbers. They give up a high volume of high danger chances, while they are in the bottom five in terms of expected goal differential. Columbus’ top line is one of the top GPP stacks of the night in their perceived tough matchup.
Zach Werenski is a great glue guy on defence for a lineup featuring Jackets forwards.
While Washington struggles on D, they have so much firepower up front to neutralize it and keep them where they are in the standings. Ovechkin’s linemates will be Kuznetsov and Wilson tonight, and I really like the duo of Kuznetsov and Ovechkin in both formats. I would rather find another filler than Wilson, however, as he is more of a grinder and not needed for offensive production. Despite having 14 goals in 36 games, he has done so due to an inflated shooting percentage. He is a little overpriced for who he is, and his numbers will decline given his resume and profile.
