NHL Grind Down: Tuesday, November 6th

The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

Game Overview

The Dallas Stars head to Columbus to face the Jackets in a game that could see some fireworks.

Starting with the Dallas side of things, they continue to be a frustrating team to target since separating Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. Seguin is the much better DFS option as indicated by having 30 more shots and three more points this season, but Benn is skating with Jason Spezza and Nichushkin at even strength.

The Stars are tough to target in a sport where stacking is so heavily encouraged.

For me, I am looking to one-off Seguin on this big slate as I don’t love Dallas as a whole, but Seguin is the one guy there who is matchup proof because of his ability to rack up multi point games with close to double digit shots some nights.

John Klingberg is always in play given his usage on the powerplay and his offensive talent, but he is tough to justify paying up for.

On the Blue Jackets side of things, they are a much more “convenient” DFS team.

They put their three best offensive players at their respective positions on the top line and top powerplay, and the results have been great.

Artemi Panarin and Cam Atkinson are the clear plays any night you want to target the Jackets, and tonight would make sense given Dallas’ open ended style of play, and average defence.
