It seems like every team is prone to a rough patch over the course of an 82-game season… even the Nashville Predators. The holiday season was rough on the Predators as they dropped their last six games to close out 2018. However, they’re finally getting back to near full health and they’ve righted the ship lately, winning four of their first five games in 2019. After both missing considerable time, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson are both back playing alongside Ryan Johansen on the top forward line. They’re both immediately fine options today and their offensive skills also give Johansen a fantasy boost. These three figure to see a very heavy dose of Jonathan Toew’s suffucating defense tonight, and while it’s a small concern, it’s not worth downgrading them too heavily on such a short slate. These three also join forces up-front on Nashville’s top power-play unit, where they’ll get a crack at Chicago’s abysmal 73.9% penalty kill (the worst mark in the Western Conference). Behind them, they’re still very much missing Kyle Turris as their second line center. In his absence, Colton Sissons will center Kevin Fiala and Craig Smith. Fiala and Smith have both already posted 25 points this season and Sissions quietly has posted four goals and four assists in his last nine games. They’ll likely fly well under the radar tonight, making them fine GPP targets. On the blue-line, Nashville is loaded with talent. P.K. Subban, Ryan Ellis and Roman Josi all absorb nearly all of the available playing time with the man-advantage and that secures them all as terrific options tonight considering that horrendous penalty kill.
