NHL Grind Down: Wednesday, March 13th

The RotoGrinders NHL Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the NHL schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit. While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy hockey there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, salaries, and more.

The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. Hockey is an extremely high variance sport. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time.

Remember, these writeups are done prior to lineups being released, so make sure to check our Starting Lineups page to ensure the recommended options are playing.

The Blackhawks may have stumbled onto something good here as they have recently been using their three best players on three different lines. Patrick Kane is the stud here as he leads the team with 41 goals and 57 assists as he will skate with Artem Anisimov and Dominik Kahun on one line while Jonathan Toews and Brando Saad will host Dylan Sikura on the team’s second line. This leaves Alex Debrincat and his 68 points to skate with Dylan Strome and the upstart Brendan Perlini on what could be termed as the team’s third line. Perlini leads the team with six goals while playing in the last five games. Pairing him with Strome wouldn’t be a bad idea here as he has collected 41 points in the 44 games he has suited up for. I’m not saying to stray away from Kane because he is surely worth a point a night. Erik Gustafsson has been the most productive Hawk defensemen this season as he has grabbed 11 of his 49 points over the last nine games. Duncan Keith can be used here as well as long as his salary is palpable as he has notched six of his 33 points over the past three weeks.
