Constructing Your Script - The Secondary Options
Once my core is selected, I start digging in a bit further for my second wave of guys. If I already have six-plus running backs selected, I usually won’t bother looking for any other running backs. Six is plenty for me at a position that requires only two roster spots. If we are being as selective as we should be, five or six guys who are in fabulous spots should be plenty.
When a spot like running back is full with studs, I look at my wide receivers. If I have too many wide receivers too (say 15-plus), I know I’ve really screwed up my selection process. It’s tough to have THAT many guys who are in incredible spots in any given slate.
If I’ve done my job and I don’t have as many wide receivers as I’d like to have, I start looking for the boom-or-bust tournament plays. These guys might not get as many targets as the studs get, but they can still score a couple of touchdowns on only a few touches in any game. Tavon Austin is an example of a guy like this.
