Putting It All Together

I hope you didn’t call up your best friend before reading this lesson. If you did, I can picture the conversation:

“Hey! I just read this awesome DFS course called ‘The Single-Entry Secret.’ I’ve already read seven lessons and learned so much, and there’s still one lesson left! I can’t imagine what’s left for this guy to talk about, but I’m pumped to see what I learn in this last lesson.”

If you did make that phone call, you should probably pause before moving forward. Call your best friend again. Warn them that they should not get too excited. You are not going to learn a thing in this final lesson.

For some reason, “Putting It All Together” has sort of become my thing in these RotoAcademy courses. At the point of this writing, I have written four MLB courses, four NFL courses, and a course on transitioning from NFL DFS to NBA DFS. In all nine courses, the final lesson is titled “Putting It All Together.” Heck – one of the actual courses is even titled “Putting It All Together”! (And, yes – the last lesson of that course is titled…well, I probably don’t need to tell you what it’s titled. I’m sure you’ve guessed already.)

In reality, I’ve wrapped up all the information I need to give you on this topic. There is nothing else to learn, beyond what you will learn on your own as you uncover the process that works best for you.

What I do want to say before you leave, however, is this:

DFS success is a real thing.

To date, I have played two full seasons of MLB, two full seasons of NFL, and two partial seasons of NBA.

I have finished with very quality profit in MLB each of my first two seasons.

I have finished with very quality profit in NFL each of my first two seasons.

In each sport, my winnings have been consistent and predictable throughout the season – to a point where I can bank on that profit coming in.

I have also finished with consistent, predictable losses in NBA each of my two seasons played. (NBA DFS is very much not my sport! – my second year playing, I pulled back substantially on buy-in levels and focused on “learning the sport” rather than trying to focus on “making profit,” and I still came up short.)

Those consistent, predictable winning seasons in MLB and NFL tell me something, and those consistent, predictable losing seasons in NBA tell me the same thing:

DFS success is a real thing.

I am a winning MLB and NFL player. I have worked my tail off to reach that point, and I continue to work my tail off in order to ensure this remains my reality. (Don’t believe me? Next time you see me, feel free to take a look. You’ll notice that I do not have a tail.)

(Okay. Wow. That joke was really, really dumb.)

Others work their tail off to ensure consistent, predictable NBA success, while I’m over here refusing to take the time to follow the sport as closely as I should or to commit to success in that sport as fully as I should. As such, these players generate consistent, predictable profit while I ensure that, over time, my sporadic NBA play will continue to land me in the red. Until I change my approach and choose to commit to success in NBA in the same way I commit to success in MLB and NFL (or until I retire from NBA altogether – which is my current plan!), these losses will continue.

DFS success is a real thing…

…and in order to achieve it, you have to be among the select few who choose to COMMIT TO SUCCESS.

Commit to studying.

Commit to putting in the work.

COMMIT TO SUCCESS.

Yes, it’s work. But it’s worth it! Man, is it ever worth it…
