Glean insight from the best minds in the industry as they list picks they’ll actually be targeting in their tournament games, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.

Author Disclaimer: Please remember, these picks are not necessarily safe for your 50/50-H2H games. They are intended to separate yourself from the herd in an attempt to be contrarian and different. The most logical outcomes don’t always play out on a given NBA slate, so we are looking for the guys that may surprise, that few will roster.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook, $11,300 – He’s going to be insanely highly owned, so you could fade him and roster Stephen Curry instead. That’s not the route I’m taking and I’ll recommend rostering BOTH Westbrook and Curry to differentiate yourself. Westbrook has scored 58 and 53 DK points in his last two games. Good right? Well, when you throw in the fact that he only 27 and 28 minutes in those games, that is crazy production. His usage is through the roof with Durant injured, and if he plays 35 minutes against the up-tempo Suns, then you could be looking at a 70 DK point game.

Stephen Curry, $9,800 – I’m not enamored with any of the other guard options, and this is a great price for Curry. This game should feature a great pace, and he dropped 45.8 DK points in the first meeting between these teams. In competitive games, Curry’s minutes sometimes go up to around 37 to 38, and this is a potential Finals preview on national TV, so he’ll look to put on a show. The Cavs have defended the PG position well this year, but Kyrie’s defensive liabilities are beginning to resurface, as they are 23rd in DVP against PGs over the last three weeks.

Shooting Guard

Dion Waiters, $4,100 – I think Waiters makes for a strong GPP play. He’s been playing very poorly of late so he shouldn’t have a huge ownership. However, with Durant out, his shot totals and minutes are way up, as he is averaging 30 MPG and 16 FGA in the last three games. The problem is that none of those shots are going in right now, as he is shooting 33% during that span. However, this game should feature a great pace and he draws the top SG matchup of the night – the Suns are 23rd in DVP against SGs on the season. This looks like a good spot to roll the dice that his increased volume finally translates to fantasy points.
