  • The Man. The Myth. The Legend. CSURAM/Peter Jennings

By the time you’re reading this, you already know that Peter Jennings, aka CSURAM, won $1 million in a single day MLB DFS contest on Tuesday August 26th. We’ve all seen CSU on Grinders Live giving out advice and also as an advocate for the industry. He’s always been a hell of an ambassador and I think he has the Re2pect of most reading this blog. However I feel like I know him better than the general public out there and I’d like to share a few thoughts on his win. Read More

  • Daily Joust College Football Week 14: The Final Frontier

Well it’s that sad time of the year right now where we have to say goodbye to the college football regular season. Sure we are going to have plenty of action during December and early January for the bowls, but it’s just not the same as the Friday night hustle to put in those lineups and then sit around on Saturday watching those games from start to finish. • Daily Joust Week 13 College Fantasy Football: Turkey Day Special

Well, here we are folks. By the time you reading this you should have your belly full of turkey and creating some genius left over creations with all that food in the fridge. It’s also that time of the year where college football is winding down, but not without leaving us with some killer action the next couple of weeks. It cranks up on Thursday night with Texas vs. TCU and carries over to a full slate of games on Friday and then Saturday. Now I don’t Read More

  • DailyJoust College Football: Week 11

Welcome to Week 11 of the College Football season on Daily Joust. Did you realize that after this weekend’s games we only have 3 weeks of regular season left? Wow this is flying by. Last week left a very bitter taste in my mouth in both NFL and NCAA. Kind of tasted like the time I thought my dad had made me some fresh scrambled eggs and hamburger meat on the stove and when I tasted it I realized it was old dog food mixed with rotten eggs. • Daily Joust Week 10 - Being a Bully with Matchups

College football week 10 is in the house! Quick question- How many of you have been bullied or picked on in your life? Even the biggest, baddest dudes have at one point or another been victim to a bully. I consider myself a fairly tough guy when I was younger. Heck I was an All-State linebacker in the great football empire of Texas high schools. Read More

  • Daily Joust Week 9 CFB - Sizing up the Opponent

What up fellas, welcome to week 9 of the college fantasy football season. We are almost to November now. That means 2 things: College football and turkey. This year I am planning on barbecuing my turkey on the pit in the back yard and this week I am thinking of winning a freaking Super joust seat if Rotokevin will leave us some of his scraps. • Daily Joust College Football: Week 8

Week 7 of college football season is in the books and as much as I love to tell a good bad beat story, I think in light of what happened to our boy DB730 it just wouldn’t be appropriate. He saw the light, lifted himself up to the summit of fantasy and just as he poked his head over the mountain top "Peyton Manning(player-profile)":/players/Peyton_Manning-11849 was there to kick him in the pie hole... • DailyJoust CFB Week 6

Week 5 of the CFB season will NOT go into the books as my best performance, that’s for sure. I really missed on a few guys and that’s mainly due to the schedule getting much stronger now for teams and as a fantasy player you have to adjust. However I went to bed on Saturday night knowing my weekend was off to a rocky start, but woke up on Sunday morning with a freaking $50,000 Super Joust ticket. Read More

The stars come out on Joust! Just within 1 week on Daily Joust we were able to ham it up with The Glove, chat around with Rod Woodson, play Rod in some fantasy football and Db had the pleasure of interviewing the legend on the podcast. Gary Payton inched closer to redeeming himself for his no show in Vegas by answering just about every question Jousters threw at him. Read More

  • Hangin with the Glove's Friend - Week 3 CFB on Joust

Week 3 of the college football season is on tap this Saturday and we still haven’t quit reached the “settle” point just yet. By “settle” point I am referring to the time of the season when all the teams are playing games within their conference and thus the competition is much more evenly matched. Were still being exposed to the cupcake factor this week and that’s always a bullet you have to dodge. Read More

  • College Football Week 2 Joust Style

Week 2 of the college football season is rapidly approaching. Time to get to work here. Now I am definitely not one to yank my own horn (I usually let someone do that for me), but all I can say is, “Nice picks Chop”! Now you’ll have to pardon me if this week’s article comes across as a bit sloppy, you see I am in the middle of writing this while…wait for it... PACKING FOR VEGAS BABY. In my best Dwayne Johnson voice, “ _Finally tha Chop…has come back to Rotogrinders_ ”. You see, for those of you who haven’t been around long enough, I once dabbled in a weekly college football article for the guys here on RG. • Daily Joust College Football: First Impressions

Wow. What can I say? I had no plans of sitting down at my desk and pumping out a RotoGrinders article, but I just couldn’t help myself when I saw the new Daily Joust college football game. After receiving word that FanDuel didn’t plan on having college football this year, and then I heard Draftstreet wasn’t going to be dropping college pigskin till early October, I was a little disheartened. Then the Daily Joust guys assured me their game would be up and ready for this weekend. I was even more surprised when I looked in an hour before kickoff Thursday night and saw they already had a contest up and running. So I sat down to see what their college game was all about and I was very impressed at what they had done. Here is my pieced together roster for the Thursday deadline along with some notes on what I liked about this game: Read More

  • College Fantasy Football News and Notes

College football is back and better than ever this year. It looks like there will be a few different sites up and ready to run college football season this year, including DraftStreet and DailyJoust (as well as 365 whom offered them last season)! Now there are many different reasons why college football is such a great fantasy sport, and if you read any of the things I wrote last year you know why. But I will tap into the greatness of college fantasy football later, for now I’d just like to give some college newbies and brief update on some of the recent happenings in college football. • DraftStreet's Rosters Separate from the Pack

Ok guys, this blog post is going to be a little bit different than the regular lineup or sleeper blogs of the past. Instead, today I’d like to take a few minutes and give my opinion on the clear distance in the Daily Fantasy game that Draftstreet is creating from their competition in baseball, largely due to their unique roster requirements. I realized when DraftStreet first came out that the expanded rosters were much better than the standard stuff we were used to seeing, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized just how much better they actually were. Here’s a quick look at DS roster compared to the daily fantasy leader Fanduel: Read More

  • MLB Saturday Pitching Matchups

Here comes another wonderful Saturday where Grinders have the option of getting their teams in early and kicking back for the rest of the day and night, sipping margaritas, and going to the flea market- or you can sleep in early, mow the yard, play with the little one(and I don't mean your kid) then put in your teams late for an enjoyable night. Either path you choose to take is up to you. What I have here though is a few of the tastier matchups that jumped out at me. So here is a breakdown on some numbers for you: Read More

  • The Entire Team Strategy, A Closer Look

OK I ran into this little nugget yesterday while surfing the various daily sites checking out all the games. I am still very much on the fence as to the “whole team” debate and whether or not it is as productive as just taking the best players on your prep sheet available. Personally I would probably rather not do entire team’s lineup, mainly because all things really need to break your way to win. However I see this strategy being more and more successful. Then again, we really only see the times when this strategy wins. We really don’t know just how many times it burns and crashes every night. Well in my exploration of solving this question I noticed this method used by the winner of the $55 GPP on Draftstreet Monday night. With his permission let’s take a look at his winning team and also another entry he had in that same tournament Monday night. Read More

  • DraftStreet HR Derby $200 Freeroll Lineup and Strategy

Well, once again, thanks to RotoGrinders, we get _another_ opportunity to capitalize in on some free money! This week it is Draftstreet and they are giving us a shot at their brand new, week-long Home Run Derby game. While I am far from an expert in this game, I put together what I feel is a solid team, and I'd like to share it with you. Here is a look at team Chopper-Abi, Home Run edition: Now, what I tried to do is focus on guys with seven games. I couldn't get them all with a full week but I got the guys I wanted with the full slate of games. My main factor was getting guys who were playing in small, home run friendly parks this upcoming week. Here is how it wound up breaking down: Read More

  • All Star Break Blues :(

With the All Star break upon us, there is not much else to do this time of year other than sit down and write a blog about the first half of the MLB season. Sure you could nitpick and add a guy here or there, but this is my squad and I am sticking to it! Man this team right here could have made you some serious cheddar had you used it so far this year. One thing is for certain in baseball, things tend to balance out. So it would not be surprising to see a few of these guys hit the skids for the remainder of the season, and also to see some not on this list emerge down the home-stretch. Stay tuned for the next installment of the Chopper-Abi, focusing on the latter: those who are about to emerge and put up a great 2nd half run. Read More

  • HvP: Friday Fantasy MLB Hitter versus Pitcher Matchups

So, big tournament Friday is here and you’re looking for some hitters to stack on your teams. Some may be obvious plays and some not so. I want to take a look at the hitter versus pitcher match-ups for Friday and see if there is anything in there that we can pull out of that information. There are only 3 hitters going on Friday with 20 or more at bats against their pitcher. Also, there are only 10 guys with more than 15 ABs against the starter...and some of those guys don’t even play right now! This means that the history of HvP is slim for the big DFBC day, but that should not deter you from digging up information that could be valuable! Now keep in mind all these numbers are based off of ESPN’s listed probable pitchers for Friday and that is subject to change at anytime. Read More
