——————————————

This Draft Ops Review will introduce you to a daily fantasy site that’s ready to take on industry leaders FanDuel and DraftKings, and won’t be shy about spending advertising dollars to do so. As Draft Ops get its name out there, more and more people will be giving it a try. We’re here to show you some of the platform’s main features and help you decide whether this is a site worth adding to your DFS gaming rotation.

DraftOps Features

When a site is looking to jump into the DFS world, they’re going to have to step up their game and deliver something that consumers haven’t encountered before. Most of the sites already in existence have exhausted the traditional DFS style of games to the point that any newcomer will have to grab the attention of the user in order to pry them away from the already established sites.

Along comes DraftOps with what appears to be a unique approach to daily fantasy sports.

DraftOps provides a platform that caters to the more casual fan. They offer different types of games, none of which are salary capped.

The first game format mimics the more traditional DFS offerings you’ll find on other sites, but, with no salary cap, it is more of just a straight Pick-em. The second format is the Single-Stat Challenge (SSC) where you are to select a number of players who are to exceed a pre-determined stat line for each player, and the payout is a multiplier depending on the number of players you select in your challenge. Finally, Draft Ops also offers a “Pick 3” type of game where you have to select three players of the same position and you can compete in a head-to-head against an opponent. We’ll touch on each of these in more detail in a moment.

Sports Offerings

DraftOps entered the market offering daily fantasy NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and MMA, all of which should be pretty popular among RotoGrinders members.

Lobby

The Lobby is relatively simple to navigate, with filters for game type, sport and price range. There also is a search feature that presumably would come in handy if you’re looking for a specific game type that isn’t immediately visible on screen.

The “Guaranteed” games show all the available games that will run, even if the total entries don’t fill all the way. This is where the site puts up its own money and guarantees the prize pools regardless of the number of entrants. (This is why you often hear of these types of contests being referred to as “GPPs,” since they boast a Guaranteed Prize Pool.)

The “Pick 3” is a format where you get to pick the players that will perform the best during the slate. For NFL, the categories range from QB/WR/RB to QB-only to Defense-only.

The Single State Challenge (SSC) which is very similar to playing the player prop lines in a sportsbook. The more players you select, the higher your return on your investment gets if you pick all your players correctly. However, unlike the player props, these picks are only who you believe will exceed a pre-determined threshold.

The Draft Ops Lobby also offers 50/50 and H2H games similar to those that exist on almost every other daily fantasy site.

Software and Interface

The software and interface for DraftOps is highly intuitive and doesn’t require much interpretation. (This is a good thing!) The filters are right there on the page and the design is sleek and clean. Entering contests is pretty simple. If you choose to enter one of the Guaranteed contests, you’ll be taken to a screen that includes several filters that help you understand all the aspects of the contest you’re entering.

The options are straightforward:

— Lineup
— Scoring Options, which explains the site scoring
— Prizes, which explains the contest’s prize structure, and
— Entries, which shows the other users that are in that tournament

There also is an option to invite your friends to compete against you in the contest you’re viewing.

Once you’ve entered your contest of choice you’re taken to the “Build Lineups” page.

Once your lineup is completed, you should be automatically navigated to the “Upcoming Contests” screen, where you get to see what contests you’re entered in.

Single Stat Challenge

The Single Stat Challenge (SSC) is a unique contest to Draft Ops. The mission here is to select players from a list of “props” that are available to the user. All users are faced with the same prop choices. Keep in mind that in SSCs, you’re not competing against anyone. Instead, the site itself will pay out the winnings based on how your selections worked.

Mobile Interface

Draft Ops has an app available in the App Store. It currently can do anything you can do on the site, directly on the app. The app is slick and smooth already at the time of writing this review, and more updates will surely be coming in the future as the site grows.

Draft Ops Deposit Bonus

Draft Ops doesn’t offer a one-size-fits-all deposit bonus. Instead, the site matches your deposit at a higher percentage based off how large your initial deposit actually is.

This chart will help explain:

While the max 60% deposit bonus is lower than the industry average, Draft Ops does at least make your full bonus available immediately in the form of on-site credits.

Is Draft Ops Legal?

Yes, Draft Ops is legal. Like all DFS sites, Draft Ops offers skill-based games that are not considered gambling. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 contained language that clarified the legality of fantasy sports.
