Real Time Fantasy Sports Inc. has partnered with USA Today Sports to bring us FantasyScore.com. They launched before the 2014 NFL season and have since added NBA, NHL and MLB for their next seasons.

FantasyScore Game Offerings

FantasyScore is currently offering both snake draft games and salary cap games.

There are two types of snake draft games: Draft-and-Go’s and Scheduled. The Draft-and-Go’s being five minutes after the last entry spot is filled. These games range from H2H to 10 man leagues. The Scheduled draft games begin at the published draft time and range from H2H to five man leagues.

The salary cap games on FantasyScore are pretty standard in regards to the industry as you can play in H2H’s, 50/50’s, 3-10 man leagues and larger GPP’s. To date, the largest GPP on the site right now was only a $10 115-person Thanksgiving Day NFL tournament, so there is plenty of room for growth. FantasyScore does already offer games for the high rollers though, as I did notice they have $5200 H2H games posted.

FantasyScore Scoring and Roster Rules

MLB rosters are the same as DraftKings with two starting pitcher spots. The scoring is similar to FanDuel, with a noticeable exception being that you get 5 points per win on FantasyScore. This makes getting the win from your pitchers extremely important.

NFL lineups require that you roster one QB with only two WR spots. You do have to roster a Kicker and Defense, but FantasyScore gives you a Flex spot instead of the third WR spot. The NFL scoring is pretty standard, but the one thing that stuck out to me is the kicker scoring. You get .1 points for each additional yard over 30 yards for FG length.

NBA rosters are probably my favorite of the group on FantasyScore. You get three guards, three forwards, one center and one flex spot. This gives you so much flexibility when building your NBA rosters and should allow for a larger edge for skilled players. The scoring is similar to FanDuel except for the -0.5 points per turnover. FantasyScore has done a really nice job with their NBA product.

NHL rosters are made up of 10 players, which is one extra compared to some of the main fantasy sites. You also have to roster two goalies, which is certainly a change of pace from other sites. They also give you the option for a flex spot by dropping down the winger spot to three. The scoring is fairly standard compared to other daily fantasy sports sites in the industry.

Site Design & Mobile Support

The website is very simple and clean looking. You can filter games by sport, style, buy-in and league size with the easy to use buttons/sliders to the right of the lobby. Users can also easily download player salaries by sport from the Tools & Research tab.

There is no FantasyScore mobile app available at this time, but the mobile website is simple and easy to use just like the desktop website. The transition to the mobile site is very well done. All the features of the desktop site are available on the mobile site.

FantasyScore Lineup Generator

FantasyScore offers an NFL lineup generator based on projections by numberfire.com. This is a nice tool that is useful and easy to use. As nice as the tool is, I don’t want the site that I’m playing on to offer a tool like that to my opponents. I feel that it greatly reduces the edge that I would have over my opponents. Lineup generators are better suited for information sites like RotoGrinders and not the daily sites that are hosting the games.

Rake and Cashier

The larger GPPs and League games are raked in a range of 9-9.5%. Head-to-Head games are raked at 10%. These figures are standard within the industry. Users are only able to deposit via credit card at the moment but are able to cash out via check or direct deposit. The minimum deposit is $20.

In all, FantasyScore is off to a great start, with plenty of room for growth. If you’re interested in checking out FantasyScore for yourself, you can sign up here.
