Now, here’s the Breakdown for February 14, 2019: Oklahoma City Thunder at New Orleans Pelicans.

Historical Numbers Against the Spread

Tonight’s match up features one of the top teams in the NBA going up against one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. The Thunder currently rank 3rd in the Western Conference with a record of 37-19 (9-1 in their last 10), while the Pelicans sit at 13th in the Western Conference with a record of 25-33 (3-7 in their last 10).

Thunder Historical Numbers Against the Spread

The Thunder came into the season with fairly large expectations and have exceeded them so far, which has resulted in a 33-23 ATS record which ranks 4th in the NBA. While the Thunder have been a good team to bet on at home this season, they have been a great team to bet on on the road with a record of 17-12 which ranks 4th in the NBA. Additionally, the Thunder come into this game with multiple days of rest where they have been one of the best teams to bet on going 9-4 ATS. Overall, this is a great spot for the Thunder to cover.

Pelicans Historical Numbers Against the Spread

Overall, the Pelicans have been a bit of a let down this season and it has shown for their betters as they have gone 27-30 ATS. The Pelicans have performed similarly both at home and on the road this season, and are under .500 ATS in both scenarios. They come into this game on a full day of rest where they also have been below average this season, going 16-18-1 ATS. Overall, this is a below average spot for the Pelicans to cover.

Historical Numbers on the Total

Tonight’s matchup should be a high scoring affair as both teams rank in the top 6 in pace this year. The Thunder currently rank 3rd in pace, 3rd in defensive efficiency, and 14th in offensive efficiency, while the Pelicans rank 6th in pace, 23rd in defensive efficiency and 8th in offensive efficiency.

Thunder Historical Numbers on the Total

The Thunder have been an entirely average team this season at covering the over with a record of 27-27-2, however looking at their current situation tonight we see that it is a very bad spot for them to cover the over. On the season, they have been a well above average team at home, while they have been one of the worst teams on the road going 11-17-1 which ranks 3rd worst in the NBA. Additionally, the Thunder have been terrible at covering the over on multiple days rest going 5-8. Overall, this is a very bad spot for the Thunder to cover the over.

Pelicans Historical Numbers on the Total

Even though the Pelicans have been one of the fastest paced teams and one of the worst defensive teams, we kind of expected this and they have only covered at a slightly above average rate going 30-28 on the over this season. Looking at tonight’s situation, we see that it is not a favorable one for them as they have gone 13-14 at home and 18-17 on a full day of rest. Overall, this is a slightly below average spot for the Pelicans to cover.
