Historical Numbers Against the Spread
Tonight’s match up features the Atlanta Hawks who are currently out of the playoff race sitting at 12th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 24-48 (3-7 in their last 10), while the Jazz are currently sitting at the 5th seed in the Western Conference with a record of 42-29 (7-3 in their last 10).

The Jazz have done slightly better than expected this season and have performed well for bettors going 37-31-2 ATS (7th best in the NBA). The Jazz have been a pretty good team for betting purposes on the road this season going 19-15-1 ATS (6th best in the NBA), but have only been slightly above average as a road favorite going 11-9 ATS. Additionally, the Jazz have been an average team ATS on back to backs going 6-6 thus far this year. Overall, this is an average spot for the Jazz to cover.

Even though at one point in the season, the Hawks were one of the worst teams to bet on in the league, they have turned things around and own a 40-39-3 ATS record. Atlanta hasn’t been a great team to bet on at home (20-21 ATS), but at one point during the the season, they were by far the worst team to bet on at home in the league, so have changed things drastically. Atlanta comes into this game on a full day of rest, a situation in which they have gone 24-24 ATS. But much like their home woes, they were at one point among worst teams in the league in this scenario. Because of their recent success at both home and on a full days rest, this is an overall good spot for the Hawks to cover.

The Jazz play at an average pace and have been one of the best defensive teams in the league this season, which has lead to them covering the over at a 32-37-1 clip. Looking at their home/road splits there isn’t a drastic difference in covering as they have gone 16-18-1 on the road and 16-19 at home. It should be noted that the Jazz are 7-5 on the over on back-to-backs this season, but were 7-10 last season. Overall, this is an average spot for the Jazz to cover the over.

The Hawks have impressed people with their pace of play this year and have covered the over at one of the highest rates in the league, going 40-32 (4th highest in the league). Much like the Jazz, the Hawks haven’t had a difference in their home/road splits this season going 19-16 at home and 21-16 on the road. However, Atlanta have been a different team on a full day’s rest going 30-16 on the over this season. Overall, this is an above average spot for the Hawks to cover the over.
