Hey everyone, welcome to the daily sports betting breakdown here on RotoGrinders, where we not only give you our favorite bets from one of the most interesting games of the night, but also historical numbers to help you improve your sports betting knowledge.
Last Friday we had a close one on our hands as the over hit by .5 points, but overall things went pretty well last week. Even with losing the last bet of the week we still went 5-2, winning 2.5 units. There isn’t a whole lot of time left in the season, so I’m going to try and focus on games that actually have some meaning to them as this time of year is a complete madhouse when it comes to late scratches.
Now, let’s get to the breakdown for April 1st, 2019: the Portland Trail Blazers at Minnesota Timberwolves game.

Historical Numbers Against the Spread
Tonights matchup features the Trail Blazers who currently site 4th in the Western Conference with a record of 48-28 (8-2 in their last 10), while the Timberwolves sit 11th with a record of 34-42 (3-7 in their last 10). While the Trail Blazers have locked into a playoffs spot, they are still playing for seeding and the Timberwolves are playing to try and get KAT and all-NBA nod.
Timberwolves Historical Numbers Against the Spread
Minnesota has been a bit of a disappointment this season and has been a below average team to bet on, going 35-40 ATS which ranks in the bottom 12 in the league. The Timberwovles have been a bad team, but they have been downright horrible on the road going 10-29 straight up and 15-23 ATS, compared to 24-13 straight up and 20-17 ATS at home. Additionally, the Twolves have been much better on a full day of rest, going 24-18 ATS (ranking 8th best in the NBA). Overall, this is an average spot for the Wolves to cover.
Trail Blazers Historical Numbers Against the Spread
The Blazers have been great this season and it has converted into a profit for those who bet them as they have gone 42-33-1 ATS (4th best in the NBA). Looking at the Blazers home/road splits, they have been fairly consistent on both sides going 22-15-1 ATS at home and 20-18 ATS on the road including an 11-4 ATS record as a road favorite. Looking at their record on a full days rest they have also performed well going 30-20 ATS (4th best in the league). Overall, this is a well above average spot for the Blazers to cover.
Historical Numbers on the Total
Timberwolves Historical Numbers on the Total
The Wolves have been one of the worst defensive teams in the league this season, which has translated to them being one of the best teams in the league to bet the over on, going 39-35-2 (10th best in the league). Looking at their home/road splits, we don’t see a drastic difference – 19-16-2 at home and 20-19 on the road – but they have been well below average on a full day of rest, going 18-22-2. Overall, this is a below average spot for the Wolves to cover the over.
Trail Blazers Historical Numbers on the Total
The Trail Blazers have been a slightly above average team to bet the over on this year going 38-36-2 (11th in the league) however, they have been one of the worst teams in the league to bet the over on the road, going 17-20-1. This is largely negated by their good numbers playing on a full day of rest where they have gone 28-20-2 (4th best in the league). Overall, this is an average spot for the Blazers to cover the over.
