Largest NBA contest we’ve ever run. I expect this to have plenty of overlay: https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/contest/2369734?pid=rotogrinders&aid=rotogrinders.

Separately, we’ll be running a $10K 3-round freeroll for anyone who plays season long NBA on Yahoo and is in the top half of their league. I’ll post the link here once it’s ready, for those that qualify.

I actually see a lot of overlay in large NBA Yahoo contests, and I expect overlay for this contest – even though the entry limit is still 10 and sharks can’t use scripts to manage their lineups.

It’s a shame, Yahoo DFS is a better product for more casual to mid level players. DK site aesthetic is just awful – it’s something out of a MySpace world where there’s green and orange letters on black black ground.

    I’m winning this bro

  • jcrebs

Started trying Yahoo( again, tho1st time this NBA season), 4 for 4 in single entry contests in the 2 days before the break. Had been struggling on DK recently, but cashed ok there same 2 days, so will keep trying both after the break , for a while, then decide and go with only one site. Like this contest, so thru a single entry in it, and also put same lineup in the $1 and $2 single entry 1k contests. Since I am “new” there, I have also entered a No vets allowed contest for thurs. Like that format.

And here is the $10K freeroll, open to anyone who is in the top half of their season long NBA league on Yahoo: https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/league/4090/overview?pid=rotogrinders&aid=rotogrinders.

We run these once or twice every season, as well as offer other DFS benefits to our season long users so make sure you sign up for at least one league moving forward in each sport!

I can only hope for “free” money. Selfishly hoping it doesn’t even fill halfway but I think more will jump in. Hell maybe even join Yahoo.

I’m torn, I would love the overlay but want to see Yahoo become a major player, which they wont be if they dont fill this one.

I love overlay as much as the next guy, but you’re spot on. We need these type of GPPs to at least come close to filling or we’re unlikely to see them again. Already got my ten entries, hope to see you guys there!

  • ElSlappo

I’d be happy to put another 10 in if they’d let me :)

  • jcrebs

Single bullet player, just finished my 10 entries.

Definitely love the support! We do have some leeway this year to try to use some overlay to grow users—that said, the better we do with contests like this the more we can run them for sure.

Have 3 in and might add more. I texted some friends to alert them about it, too.

Would the number of entrants in this one set future contest pools?

For example, if you get 5K entrys would you run a 40K guaranteed contest?

  • fluffynuggets

Tried to enter this contest, and several others, but system would not allow. If others had the same problem, could explain huge overlay on multiple NBA/Hockey contests @ 7PM.

What score was required to cash in last night’s GPP?

Waaaayyyyy to high of a score for me. Glad I didn’t play. My strategy of playing just freerolls is working perfectly! I do like Yahoo though.

there were 6,100 entries and 2,900 places paid. it was essentially a gpp/50/50 hybrid. that kind of overlay doesn’t come around very often these days. hopefully, it works out for Yahoo and more people come over.

Yeah I only play cash where 95% of entries are guaranteed to win, and then I still only have a 10% of winning!! I need games where you get points for how your picks do vs. there projections!! I am the youdacao of that type of game.

Had so much fun on Friday, we’re rolling with a $50K contest today: https://sports.yahoo.com/dailyfantasy/contest/2382756?pid=rotogrinders&aid=rotogrinders.

  • Orangeflow

You will fill EVERY one of those Daniel if you raised the max entries. Limit it to 10 later if you want when you attract the new players and have enough players to fill them…….until then let the current pool of players enter…..say 40 lineups and they will fill. Sticking with 10 lineup max after the overlay the other night doesnt seem to be very intelligent.
