Just thought I’d put that in the forum so everyone is aware it’s not the standard 10%. Please let me know if my math is wrong and I’ll delete. That extension idea for rake would be awesome.

So should they be renamed 50/38’s ?

Ya, I love FD. Just surprised to see them having higher than 10% rake in some tournaments. Oh well I guess. At least they’re making mo money.

Would someone at Fanduel please address this? Also I’m also showing the super slam is being raked at 11.7%. Is this standard? Thank you.

This is not new. Their multi-entry double ups have had 12% rake since they were first introduced.

I noticed this the other day too as the math wasn’t adding up. It is a scary trend that I hope doesn’t continue now that the industry has substantially consolidated.

Apparantly, people weren’t paying attention during NFL when the large double ups were raked at 12% or higher. I’m not sure if FanDuel will chime in on this or not. It’s not like there is some rule in the UIEGA that rake has to be 10%. My guess is the rake on Guaranteed Contests is higher because of FanDuel’s risk in these games. Even though overlay is not common on FanDuel, it does happen from time to time. The additional rake for these contests when they fill makes up for the times FanDuel lost money. Like I said though, there is no law requiring FanDuel to offer 10% rake. Quite honestly, the rake is set at whatever the market will bear. Right now that number appears to be 12%. If people would pay 15% I guarantee the rake would be 15%.

10 percent has not been the standard for years i hope you did not just notice this?

you should ask about rake in the big events where the qualifiers to enter the qualfier are raked . So you pay rake about 3 x by the time you win. I am guessing 28-44 pct for the big trips where you go to a venue

I’ve taken all my action in cash games elsewhere. Other sites with lower rake and better promos/bonuses. GPP of course FD is king and the rake is beatable by a tremendous amount for GPPs

Weird….your profile says otherwise. Looking at your game results https://rotogrinders.com/profiles/MrFantasy/game-results of your last 100 wins 2 of them were on Draftkings and the rest FanDuel. So either you don’t win at your new site or you just cut your nose off to spite your face.

the “standard” rake shouldnt even be 10%. I like how as they get more customers they are raising rake on new games…….

Just an idea Sherlock Holmes, but maybe he’s referring to 50/50’s as cash games

$182,000 on rake from NBA tournaments right now for Fanduel tonight. This does not include 50/50s, h2h, leagues, or tournaments they will add later tonight.

Not bad for a day’s work.

I was just curious where he went with his action. I wanted to know what great new site he found that offers rakeback and bonuses. I guess it’s a secret and he didn’t want to link it to his profile. I wasn’t trying to bash him. He has a lot of wins on FanDuel. Surprised he would walk away from cash games when he’s putting up winning scores every night.

No problem Seth. I’ve only just recently switched my cash game volume to victiv and aces and even more recently linked my RG account to those. Does Victiv track to RG? I’ve played at least a couple hundred anon H2H games there and nothings shown on my ranking/profile.

The monthly bonus on Aces makes cash games there very appealing at the lower stakes and Victiv is supposedly going to offer a form of rakeback via their loyalty program which is supposed to be announced soon. Don’t quote me on that, but I’ve seen the information on their twitter page not long ago.

Edit: Also, the games in my profile are 98% GPP for Fanduel so I think it’s clear my Cash Game play is elsewhere.

You have three options. Play at Fanduel, go somewhere else, or don’t play.

They are going to rake as much as they can and they have no reason not to. It’s a business. If their market share diminishes because of the rake then the rake will be lowered. Until then, rakers gonna rake, players gonna play, and losers gonna lose.

At some point the rake will shut out the average player, all us fish will disappear, and the sharks will feed on each other. Now is not that time though, so they are getting since the getting is good.

I agree. If people aren’t willing to talk with their money, why wouldn’t they raise their rake?

But they spent it all on that commercial that aired 300 times today.

I just hope ESPN or Yahoo or CBS decide to get in the game and start putting serious market pressure on these 10-12% rakes.

Do we need a national NO PLAY DAY? To be fair its not just FD that has the rake at that amount. Of course the same who will defend rake also think your taxes are too low

This is dumb. The rake to taxes comparison.

Rake is a necessary evil. We all know it, just some complain about it. The answer is easy. No what rake you are paying and don’t pay more than you are willing to.

You guys would kill the industry in exchange for a weekend of 5% rake.

I think sharks feeding on eachother is already the case in NBA. When 10 points separate 20 spots in a 40 man 50/50 it’s a good indication

That would be great. Need to make clear how advantageous it is to pay lower rake to the average person signing up though. Also, Fanduel pays big money to advertise on those channels so it would at first be a losing proposition since I would think Fanduel would pull advertising.

I just don’t think 5% rake would kill the industry.

Roulette has among the highest rake of all casino table games at 5% and people still line up to play. Yeah I know Fanduel pays for a lot of advertising, but casinos pay dealers, pit managers, give away freeplay etc.

Doesn’t Fanduel only employ like 100 people?

A good point, but an ESPN DFS site would make a trillion dollars right off the bat. It would be titanic.

Sure. But you just said the sharks are already eating the sharks. The more that happens the less rake. The less rake the less ads. The less ads the less new players. The less new players the sharks eat the sharks.

Can’t compare a casino where you play against the house to DFS where you play against other players.
