2014 RotoGrinders NFL Opening Weekend Party in Vegas Announcement – Reserve Your Spot!

Our third annual Party is booked! A huge thanks to DraftKings for sponsoring the event again this year. All of those attending can look forward to some of that sweet, sweet DK swag (read: hot sauce).

NFL Opening Sunday is like our version of Christmas morning, and our goal with this party is to make it even better. We’re celebrating the return of football, the growth of the industry, and the growth of the community.

Come hang out with the Grinders staff and some of the top players at some of the coolest places in Vegas. There will be a poker tournament, a beer pong tournament, bowling, the third annual Freeroll Bowl, the AlSmizzle TPOY award presentation, and more.

Space may end up being limited, so we’re opening the initial invite to any member ranked in the top 2500 overall on a first come, first serve basis (but we can make exceptions).

Here’s the list of who’s going. We’ll add your name to this list as you commit in this thread. Don’t forget to mention if you’re bringing a +1. This year most of us are staying at the Mirage

Saturday (9/6) Welcome Party – Upstairs at Diablo Cantina – 6-10 PM

o Second Annual Daily Fantasy Beer Pong Championship (DFBPC?). Get your partner lined up!

o Some type of Football Toss game

Diablo Cantina has a bad ass open air upstairs section that looks out over the strip. It’s located just in front of Monte Carlo.

Sunday (9/7) Viewing Party – Upstairs at Brooklyn Bowl at the Linq – 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM

o Food and Drink provided
o 8 big screen TVs all in a row to watch the games
o 16 bowling lanes just for us
o Third Annual Freeroll Bowl – every member attending plays a freeroll hosted on each site attending. The aggregate winner across all sites wins $500 in addition to the individual freeroll prizes! Former champions HeadChopper and DP47 chugged a beer out of the Freeroll Bowl itself, so be ready for that.
o TPOY Trophy Presentation to 2013 Champion, Al Smizzle

I walked into Brooklyn Bowl for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was wowed. It’s an 80,000 square foot concert venue/bowling alley/bar/restaurant. We’ll have an upstairs section all to ourselves – in fact, they are opening up early Sunday just for our group. It’s located at the Linq, the new hot spot in Vegas that also hosts the 500 foot tall “High Roller” Ferris Wheel. It’s also close to the Flamingo for those wanting easy access to a Sportsbook.

Cannot wait.

Sunday Poker Tournament – Mirage Poker Room – 7-?

o $150 buyin, $15 to the house

We had a lot of fun with this last year. When the afternoon games end you can walk down or cab back to the Mirage for a big poker tournament with the whole group. Nigel eliminated me with a set vs Kings very early last year, so I will be back with a vengeance this year.

A special thanks to Smizz’s wife, Emi, and her company, www.ezeventstaffing.com, for leading the charge in putting all of this together. I can’t say enough about how good she is at what she does.

I sincerely hope to see you there. If you’ve got any questions just ask them in this thread. If you are 99% sure you are in let us know and we’ll add you to the list.

I think I donked out first and just twiddled my thumbs in the hotel room afterwards, while watching Dez Bryant do his best Mike Moser impression vs. the Giants D.
