    This is the scoring you will see on Fanduel’s MLB page now.

    1B = 3pts
    2B = 6pts
    3B = 9pts
    HR = 12pts
    RBI = 3pts
    R = 3pts
    BB = 3pts
    SB = 6pts
    HBP = 3pts

    W = 12pts
    ER = (-) 3pts
    SO = 3pts
    IP = 3pts*

    *Fractional scoring per out.

    It looks like they want much high scoring. No negatives for hitters. Wow.

  • keith1174

    So funny looking at FD and seeing that i got 24 points after 2 innings from 2 players and its only 2 IP, 4K’s, 1B, and 1RBI. Gonna take a while to get used to this. Remember some nights having 24 for the whole team.

  • MikeSos760

    I remember one time having negative points at the end of the night. It was great.

  • flip4flop

    Looking at probably 60 points from pitching on FD. I think I won a GPP once with a little higher score than that.

  • yoshi2132

    Basically if one of your guys gets a 0 your screwed. Just like DK. Last year if I had two guys with -1, I still had hope, but with the inflated x3 scoring, it’s become just like basketball ugh.

    That makes 0 sense. Its the same scoring just multiplied x3. Nothing changed you can still win with guys getting 0. LOL

  • dcexpress

    Do not like this at all. It’s like they let DK get to them. I loved how the negatives changed the outcomes and the lower scoring made it easier to watch the byline on tv to come up with a score. May cause me to play more elsewhere.

  • madmanjayWV

    Waiting on numerous GPP ties baby…gonna be awesome
    I mean it’s so cool and funky to get 60 from Liriano instead of that awful 20…..don’t like it, nothing u can do.

    Calculate the scores the same way you did before…and then multiply by three. Does the factor of three really make it that much harder?

    If I’m at the bar, well…yeah. I did like the ability to move up when your lineup was finished and the late night players under performed. As for Madmanjay, you may be right-there is nothing I can do to change that. But I can stop playing FD baseball and play elsewhere, which FD should have considered before changing something this big. Has anyone started the petition to change it back? I’ll sign that and the one to bring Draftstreet back.

    I’m just disappointed theres no more fractional scoring. I won and lost many MLB GPPs by less then a half point and the excitement was worth every penny. That element is now gone. I can’t see Fanduel keeping this scoring system very long if ties become and issue.

    It’s exactly the same. Every single scoring statistic was just multiplied by 3.

    Instead of winning by 1/3rd or 2/3rds it turns into 1 or two points.

    *Edit

    Forgot about the fractional scoring for outs as well… I’m a fan of it, but understand why others aren’t!

    It actually is beneficial to those who check lineups before lock and make sure their players are playing.

    You won’t end up getting negative points and be able to be outscored by someone who ends up playing a player that is resting that day.

  • semobb1993

    The elimination of negatives for outs is a horrific mistake… Both my lineups ended up in at least (I stopped counting) a multi-hundred-way tie right on the cash line of 123.

    I know… I know… Small slate. But still. This will be the norm rather than the exception going forward regardless of slate size, and I cant see the players being happy about it. If they don’t want to bring back negatives for outs, fine, but SOMETHING needs to be done to differentiate player performances a bit more specifically.

  • cburg74

    By FD now scoring only by whole numbers, it will result in numerous ties throughout the leaderboard in full slate GPPs. It will now be commonplace to tie each night with a bunch of other lineups which were constructed different from yours. I don’t know if that is a bad thing or not, just saying. I know FD likes to promote/advertise about making someone an instant millionaire in some of their “big” events. It will look funny if a million dollar first prize is split by a dozen or so people.

    Let’s say in this scoring system, 2 of your guys gets a combined 8 outs for 0 points. And your opponent’s 2 guys gets a combined 4 singles & 4 outs. They will be 12 points ahead of you now.

    Before in this same scenario, you’d only be behind by 5 points.

    What I’m saying is it’s a lot easier to get points now, so if one of your guys doesn’t play, he doesn’t have the opportunity to get those x3 points.

    But it is easier to score 12 points now than it was to score 5 points under the old system.

    Old system – 5 singles = 5 points.
    New system – 4 singles = 12 points.

    Just look at the leader board and look at how many people have tied for the exact same score….I’m not a fan of this scoring…imo smaller numbers were so much better and now without the .33 for pitching and no negatives, so many scores will be the same !!!! BRING BACK THE OLD!

    ^^^^THIS^^^^==BRING BACK THE OLD——I hate not having minus scoring—-and not having .33 for pitching—-plus when you are out of players——there is NO——ZERO—-reason to continue to watch the games or keep up with your team. The old scoring you could still move UP/DOWN in the standings/money. Why even watch if you are out of players. I can’t stand the new scoring. TIES/TIES—-the everyone gets a trophy. What is next —-no minus for interceptions/fumbles/bogeys/turnovers in basketball.

    It looks like we are stuck with ONE TIE / ALL TIE. What site still has MINUS scoring ?

    Yeah, but now if you’re down 12 points, you can take the lead in one at-bat with one solo home run. Last year, if you were down 12, you would have needed multiple ABs to even have a chance to come back.

    So yes, your deficit would be bigger than last year, but it’s offset by the fact that you can make up those “extra” points in far fewer ABs. In fact, your theory not only has no basis, but in your scenario, you’d actually be BETTER OFF this year than last. Instead of losing 2 points for going 0-for-8, you’d be at zero and still closer to your opponent than you would have been under the previous scoring.

    FanDuel no negatives for hitters; Pitching -3 earned run (funny though, in their rules it still does say “IP: Fractional scoring per out./ Out: Calculated as at bats – hits.”

    FantasyFeud -1 caught stealing, -0.5 grounding into double play, -0.5 batter strikes out; Pitching -1 loss, -0.25 walk, hit, hit batter, -0.75 earned run

    DraftDay -1 for an out by a hitter; Pitching -3 earned run, -1 hit, walk, hit batter

    FantasyAces – no negatives for hitters (but they do have varying fractional scoring for 1.25 RBI, 1.25 Runs, 0.5 HBP; Pitching -0.25 walk, hit, hit batter, -1 earned run,

    DraftKings no negatives for hitters; Pitching -2 earned run, -0.6 hit, walk, hit batter

    FantasyDraft has -2 for caught stealing: Pitching -2 earned run, -0.6 hit, walk, hit batter

    The ties are going to be rampant no matter the slate size. Based just on the number of possible score outcomes. I realize you could possibly get a negative score but you have to figure that scores from 0 to 250 is only 251 possible outcomes. Basically any tourney over 251 entrants will be guaranteed to have ties equal to that amount over 251. So a tourney with 10000 entrants is going to have at least 9749 ties in there. Whole numbers were a bad idea.
