This better be the last crappy prize pool we see on dk. They continue to fill early. Already more than half filled and prices have been out for 1 day

Given the size of the user base and the fact that golf is a niche fantasy sport, I can see Yahoo blowing these other sites away, once they decide to enter the fray. Not sure why they have not.

I think this will be a great course for speith due to long putting and proximity on approaches.

Thinking the bombers will be overowned at the top due to the length and par 5 scoring (Bubba, dj, day, koepka) but looking at past scoring the par 5s are mostly not eagle holes (it looks like jt Holmes eagled 2 last year but hardly anyone else) and the scoring is going to come from a good layup and great wedge or putt.

Also Spieth should be able to play in the wind due to coming from Texas

I was researching the Sony Open for 4 hours last night. I have my lineups in, no tinkering this year.

Is DLIII basically a free square on FantasyHub? I find it difficult to create a roster without him.

Middle of the pack in all the important scoring categories. Not a bad choice in the mid to low range priced options.

Wedge play from 50 to 100yds is extremely crucial on this course.

If you look at alot of the guys who have won here, they are strong wedge players.

Stricker, Ogilvy, Z Johnson, Byrd, Appleby all guys very talented inside 125yds.

All 4 of Jimmy Walker, Snedeker, Z Johnson and Piercy were inside the top 20 last season in shot approachs from 50-125yds.

From a sportsbetting perspective Piercy at 67 to 1 is amazing value.

Looks like shot tracker got officially taken down, or do I just have the wrong link?

  • ninerzfan8

Got all my lineups set. Went with a combination of Spieth Fowler at the top and kisner Thomas in spot 2 and then a bunch of lower guys all mixed in.

Left money on the table in every lineup to try to avoid duplicates cause I’m only playing the $3 lottery this week. Next week is the time to step it up to a full slate for me with the full field and cut coming back.

Excited that they hopefully have a fully functioning shot tracker back in play and the Pga app has added projected putt lines and breaks to the green view so at least some of the 3 foot misses will be more understandable.

you guys think there will be some overlay on DK? been playing a lot of NBA and seem to have forgot how to chase overlay. Super rusty on golf info so may only play a couple contests. should be interesting!

Walker sure went up relative to DK pricing on the betting line. (and DK3 went from low to super low)

    Walker sure went up?

Are you saying … what are you saying? That Walker is priced higher than the vegas odds suggest, or that Walker is priced lower than the vegas odds suggest?

My thing is I see Walker as a good value in this field at that price … without giving ANY consideration to past performances here, him being a hawaii/jan monster/ etc., whatever, none of that … and he’s still popping for me … so … as much as I’d love to fade him, I don’t have a basis for it so … wish me luck!

Yeah, in the last hour I increased my exposure to him.

As for my poor wording – I am not a betting guy, so surely said it wrong in terms of… anything.

The context I said it for was:
    1) the day the lineups came out on DK, I downloaded those
    2) same day, I downloaded the bet line for them and their figures on that day
    3) downloaded the bet line again and their figures, for today
    4) tracked the difference relatively to DK salaries on the betline differences

DK’s salary for him was then today relatively cheap on that list, in that he was low on the list on DK on Monday vs where he would be no if they priced based on the betline.

So yeah, sorry – I said it wrong I am sure.

Point being, he seems to be a value in the eyes of vegas types.

So Walker’s odds to win have increased since the open, right?

To me that’s just a symptom of his past performance here and him being, I believe, a public play/pick this week? For vegas odds and for DFS.

So analyzing these trends you would think you’d be able to glean ownership, possibly, or popularity …

But do you normally consider the line moves to be sharp? I.e. some would say if the public is betting heavy on Walker, well maybe we don’t want the same side as the public? Especially in DFS?

I’m owning him because … because. I’ve got him as a strong value, I’ll ride the popularity in 5050s, the tough one is fade or not to fade in GPPs …

I mean, he IS going to be popular right? I’ve been thrown for a loop before. I think I got more than my share of Walker chatter on my timeline this week but that could have been short sampled.

For an eliminator pool I’m waiting until next week for Walker … if he shows something this week … … … I’m still kind of wary. If he plays well this week then I think he’s an obvious safe pick for next week (but will probably be even more expensive and more popular next week, if he does well this week, so, might be the opposite for DFS) …

    My take, yes.

As to whether he is or not in DFS – from other sites I was looking at, didn’t see it to that extent, but I am certainly wrong a lot.
