It’s crazy how soon next season is starting, really looking forward to it.

A few things that have been on my mind are the West Ham transfers, Wolves Portuguese invasion, Spurs new stadium, and in particular the lack of late hammer games this season. Like, the literal changing in the EPL schedule where there are no more late games, and bigger slates.

    What’s on everyones’ minds?

  • webbm1

What do you mean by no late hammer games? There are still games at 5:30 every saturday up till end of september at the moment and then SKY/BT will announce the next lot of TV games for October/November.

Also once the Champs League and Europa League get underway properly you’ll see alot of games moved to the sunday.

Right now my story line I am following is the media ‘Cat Fights’ between Mourinho and Klopp over Liverpool spending. I find it hilarious.

West Ham went all in, and for good reason. The fans spoke up in a loud fashion during their games towards the end of the season and they are being repaid in hopes that this season is much different (which it should be). I’m just waiting for United to do something this transfer window (just saying, Fred isn’t what I expected).

Was at the liverpool/man city game last night. Man the games live are so much faster then they appear on tv. Salah and Mane changes that game completely once they came in

this would explain why we saw so much damn Liverpool late hammers last season.

Liverpool were on TV 27 times last season, only Arsenal and Man U were on more. I really hope this season is different but it’s unlikely.

    serious question tho…
will Salah really do this again?

I think he scores 15-20, but I think he’ll get injured and miss a month or two.

My write up on all the big young transfers for this Summer.

Super intensive, give it a read and a like!

  • SiegeTheDaySports

    Interesting article @sirrobert6.

Everyone is so wrong about James Maddison it’s untrue. Those that watched him tear the Championship to pieces last season for Norwich (14 goals, 8 assists and a monopoly on set pieces) know he’ll be fantasy gold this season. Couple that with the fact that Demarai Gray is set to fully come out of Riyad Mahrez’s shadow, and Leicester are one of the more exciting teams to watch this season.

In my opinion the three most exciting (aged 23 or under) transfers not mentioned above that occurred are considered ‘unfashionable’ by most:

David Brooks – Sheffield United to Bournemouth.
Josh Murphy – Norwich to Cardiff City (had the most shots of anyone in the Championship last season)
Max Meyer – (Free/Schalke) to Crystal Palace.

considered this, but my hate for Palace knows no bounds.

First EPL slate is up, I know Wolves are better than the average promoted team but Everton’s midfielders seem bizarrely under-priced.

Hi guys, can’t wait for next season. This will be my first EPL season on Draft Kings, I played mainly EU sites, but now I can grind on Draft Kings as well. Already participated in the WC, but only some GPPs.

I am looking to expand to DK cash-games too and I might have some noob questions, so if anyone can answer, I’ll be glad! How many points should I target? What is the usual line that is enough for getting ITM? I am mostly interested in the $2-$10 Double-ups with GTD for now.

I also have more general question – I have a set-up roll, which I wanna spend every week. Is it better to register multiple entries in the cheapest Double-up, or spread entries across all the stakes?

Example: $30 to spend, should I register $10, $5, $5 single entry, and rest $2? Or go 15 times $2?

Thank you all for your time

The ideal card has everyone finish in at least double digits. If this happens, you are going to win money, period.

Look at it in terms of value. If you have someone that costs 4k and they finished with 4fpts, that’s 1x. 8fpts is 2x, etc. For cash, you are looking for 2.5x min for proper value, if this happens, chances are you are going to win near 100% of you 50/50’s and dbl up’s.
For GPP, the min is usually around 3.5x for proper cashing, you can sometimes get away with a decent 2.5x card. To take down a GPP, you’ll need an avg of 4.5x min in order to have any kind of a hope.
Obviously, there is still game theory that comes into play, ownership, meta, etc, but for the most part that is the main idea.

Everyone has their own bankroll style, some people find they are better at GPP, some find it better to play cash. I think the general go to rule for most DFS is cash over GPP, but like I said, to each their own. But yes, to properly grow your bankroll over a long period of time, it’s better to play 50/50s and dbl up’s over and over.
Soccer isn’t the sport you are going to change your life with overnight, personally, playing GPPs in soccer is rather suboptimal. Save that for the NFL/PGA/MLB kind of payouts, put your $20 in and go for it. Otherwise, you should be grinding your bankroll up.

I’m just going to throw it out there for everyone, new or not, playing 50/50 dbl up PickEm/Showdown is literally free money barring no freak occurrence. Especially for cash, make sure to diversify your game selection, just like you would your card.

Couple things with this post. There is no hard number that will get you to cash every week. Everything with soccer is slate dependant (how many goals will be scored). The 2.5x, 3.5x and 4.5x above are extremely aggressive unless you are talking about the early round UCL slates where we see 5+ goal games by one team.

There are weeks were you can cash double ups with well less than 100 points (less than 2x and sometimes less than than 1.5x). There are weeks you can win a GPP with scores between 100-120 (just over 2x and less than 2.5x). Hell, I’ve seen GPP’s won with less than 100 points on occasion. 3.5x (175 points) and especially 4.5x (225 points) would be extreme outliers, especially for EPL.

  • hcassidy

Who do you think Sarri will roll out as his GK this Saturday against Huddersfield, Courtois has gone ‘AWOL’ and hasn’t reported trying to force a move to Real Madrid, which will now be his second time going ‘AWOL’ as he did it before to get moved to Chelsea.

  • hcassidy

So let me get this straight, Barcelona offered 57M + Yerry Mina and Andres Gomes to Man Utd for Pogba(who I believe is being used their in the worst way) and Man Utd said thanks but ‘we good’. Glazer family is good at running companies but running sports teams is beyond pitiful. They will fire a coach at TB for the incorrect sneeze but Mourinho can get a free pass on everything. I mean as I mentioned before he called out Klopp and Liverpool for spending. Dude is straight trash.

  • mogizzle

That was a weak offer though. Especially with so little time left in the transfer window. Rejecting it was the right move

Yeah, the yahoo offerings for the first weekend are pretty disappointing. They were running and filling 10k guarantees last season and the biggest tourney they have posted for this season is a 2.5k. wtf

    To reply;
I agree every slate is dependant on that slate, that’s why I brought up game theory, etc.
The aggressive nature of the number is to ensure victory, no matter the situation. You will need 4x to take down a GPP, no matter how the slate turns out. It’s a good goal to shoot for in terms of range of making sure you will win, the closer you get to 4x, the more likely you will win it all, no matter the slate. I was trying to answer the question taking away any of the obvious slate dependencies. Is it generalised? Sure, but it answers the question and gets the point across. Still haven’t eve brought up how it’s more dependant on the salary than the amount of players, but either way, from what I understand you think I meant mincash in GPP, where I actually meant take it down with 4x. Proper cashing also doesn’t mean min cash, it means paying for every GPP entry you had on the day. As I said, if you win with 2.5x, you are likely winning 100% of your cash entries. I wasn’t being light about those number, I was ensuring victory.

Take a look at Fanteam.com if you are from Europe. Seasonlong (€ 100k) and weekly (€ 25k) will have huge overlays again.

In my opinion, you shouldn’t have to shoot for a certain point/number value (2X, 3X, 4X, etc.) in SOC as you would in NBA/NFL (the volume dependent sports). Honestly, just take each slate as a new leaf and construct your lineups in attempting to get the most points/$ given the slate itself. Soccer is volatile with goals, obviously, so scores will differ each and every week, whether it’s a cash game or tournament.

As far as your double ups question, I’d recommend putting more of your ‘set-up roll’ into GPPs as payout structures are obviously much more rewarding, and min-cash lines between double ups and GPPs do not differ much in soccer DFS. I do rate the SE DU’s over the multi-entry in a nutshell, though.

You still don’t need 200 points to take down an EPL GPP. It never gets that high. That’s an average of 25 points per player on your roster. There are many slates where 1 or even 0 players score than many points in general.
