my problem with the objection is that 1 and 13 were effected the 20 was not. 20 filed the objection
well it doesnt matter no cashable tickets for me.

  • marker0357

20 was not affected as my horse, #18. he was pinched by 1 and 20 damnit. LOL

Well, I just lost my exacta.

    Terrible DQ.

Track management screws up the racing surface by harrowing the track before a downpour and than penalizes a horse for losing his footing coming out of the turn.

  • marker0357

    totally screwed.

    I lost again.

xpressbet having a lot of issues today.

They still don’t have a replay of the Derby available but they do have these results posted.

    So confused!

The 7 horse Maximum security drifted from the 2 lane to the 4 impeding multiple horses which resulted in the DQ. Easy call for a race that wasn’t the Kentucky Derby. I am actually kind of surprised they ruled the DQ with how many causal fans tune in just for this race.

That seems about right. Not a big racing fan, but to this casual observer it looks like maybe the fourth or fifth best race horse for the day just won the Kentucky Derby. Sounded like a boatload of boos from the stands when they awarded the trophy.

The DQ was the right call since he did impede other horses which should be an automatic DQ regardless if it was intentional or accidental. This being the Kentucky Derby with tons of casual fans made it way more of a tough call than it would be in any other standard race.

    Wagers -$1,162.00
    Winnings $834.75

plus another 110 or so lost in the Heritage account which had the promo.

Sadly there were no big favorites today. When there are big favorites on Triple Crown days at those tracks, they get underbet in the show pool and that’s the edge.

If they didn’t DQ the horse this time, I don’t know if they ever could again… He went wide and cut the horse off and it was uncharacteristic of the rest of his run… though call

  • XxHeisenbergxX

It was definitely the right call. When the 7 came out the 1 came within inches of clipping heels which could have caused a disastrous chain reaction.

so very true, I got in my head a picture of the 1 going down at the top of the stretch in the slop and it would have taken out most of the field. someone would have been killed and wouldn’t be surprised if more than 1 horse would have been euthanized.

That was as dangerous a situation as racing can provide. I dont suppose anyone here playing gimmicks won. maybe if you took the #20 out of the equation. so many people came close. Depalma was close and it would have been an exceptional payday for him with the wheel all bets.
This will make for a good Preakness and Belmont. No clear cut favorite maybe we will get decent fields.

yes, he did drift outward but the winner drifted inward. The #1 and the #18 were pinched. Both should have been disqualified IMO.

That’s what I said elsewhere. If they were going to place a horse as a winner it should have been the 13.

What Country House did was normal and going to happen in a 20 horse field. “Drifting” a little bit is one thing, if you even want to call it that. But cutting across lanes, which is what Maximum Security did, should be an absolute DQ. They were extremely lucky the 1 did not go down and take out most of the field, resulting in horse and jockey injuries and possibly, maybe likely, much worse. The stewards should have called for an inquiry immediately. There should have been no need for an objection even. It only played out like it did and took so long because it was the biggest race of the year.
