Looks to me Hideki will be massive chalk. Even in an event where everyone is low priced he’s especially low.

I wish DK would roll out the full complement of contests for the PGA, been anxious to plan out my bankroll usage.

    Waiting for that too!

The Milly Maker’s prize structure is laughable! 33% to 1st on 176K entrants, 0.23% to 9th…

Some new contests up. Look like some good balanced contests, unlike ripoff milli maker as you noted.

It’s my week for beat the forum so I’ll try to get my initial lineup built and some H2H in the lobby on Monday. My bankroll has been limited a bit while saving for a house so it’s likely gonna be all $1 offerings until I figure out the full range of contests I’m in and how much leftover I’ve got for other h2hs

  • dbullsfan

Cantlay and Sergio seem like they will be super high owned at $8200 and $7900 both of those guys should be closer to 9K I would think.

  • Kp24

Julian Suri is great value DK price/Vegas odds.
Euro form and PGA Tour form is different. But he in my opinion is the most egregious price on DK

I also like Cantlays value. Sergio is again at a number that looks good, and I’m at Sergio guy. However I might zig on Sergio with a lot of guys zagging on him

Most are there now – they wanted to get evwryone’s money for the Byron Nelson showdowns first 🙄

  • hautalak

Well I haven’t looked besides here at all but I will mostly be avoiding Cantlay and Suri. Haven’t been on the right side of Cantlay much this year and I’ve never really played Suri. I’m sure I’ll like others in his range just as much if not more.

There are a few guys that are quite cheap:

Agree on Suri as well as Piercy, BarnRat and Michael Thompson for $100 more

Adam Long is priced with the Club Pros and has won a PGA event this year and had great bogey avoidance at Wells Fargo and hits it long and is $6200

Fritelli playing better lately and is $6300 even Danny Lee at same price

If the rough is not too crazy long then List, Tway and Burns for 6800 are all in play as longer hitters who can be a bit wild at times.

Pat Perez at 7K is one of the hottest guys coming in with and 8th and 12th last 2 weeks and both could have been a couple spots higher without a late bogey.

You can make some really nice builds if you can stomach these guys down here.
I’m not even adverse to Stricker, even tho he’s finishing up on Monday, he could come into this week a “major” champion already

I probably like more on the 6’s and very low 7’s than I do with $1000 more. I’m not usually a Stars and Scrubs guy but initial thoughts have me leaning that way for a bunch of builds.

  • hautalak

It’s not a good play but I gotta get in my staple Fin! Mikko Korhonen. Let’s do this haha

I think I am gonna be all about the stars/scrubs this week.
PGA Championship tends to throw up some interesting names on the leaderboard. It’s not as straight forward as one might think

Not last year – of the Top 20 and ties (26 players) only Cink T4 and Brandon Stone T12 would be considered out of place to me. The top 20 last year were mostly players in the Top 50 in the world ranking along with guys close and working their way up there like Kokrak, Suri, Wallace and Na.

If you guys are looking at cheapies, take a look at Rob Labritz for 6100 on DK. Granted it isnt a PGA set up but guy has won the New York State Open 3 times and it’s at Bethpage Black.

Could do worse for that low with folks who dont have a comparable course history.

That’s some deep diving, I like it man, good stuff

For those considering a PGA Club Pro…DON’T !
Below is cobbled together from 2 different articles:

Since the PGA Championship and the PGA Club Professional Championship became two separate events more than four decades ago, the best a PGA Club Professional has ever finished in this major is third. That happened twice: Tommy Bolt in 1971 at PGA National and Sam Snead in 1974 at Tanglewood GC in North Carolina. Neither were considered “touring pros” anymore by that late stage in their careers so were considered part of the Club Pro contingent.

Since 2000, the best finish by a PGA club pro was a tie for 31st in 2004. Chip Sullivan achieved that feat.

Only one club professional has finished inside the top 20 in the last 30 years, Jay Overton in 1988 at Oak Tree.

Only three have made the cut in the last seven years !!!!!
Ben Kern (T42) a year ago at Bellerive, former PGA Tour Omar Uresti (T73) two year ago at Quail Hollow and Brian Gaffney (71st) in 2015 at Whistling Straits.

If you’re willing to pick an item or two from the bargain bin you can put together some sick lineups (on paper at least) for this one

  • hautalak

Damn just put my first “list” together and there’s a ton to whittle down! I know it’s a major but this seems like one of the strongest fields almost ever. I’m certainly going to need more than 20 lineups this week. Thank god for crowns!!! The BR is a little higher than normal so hopefully I don’t lose it in the leadup. Going to try and narrow it down a bit but it’s going to be hard. I’m going to need a few sheets of paper for this one. I’m excited though. Finally have some mili tickets (3) but that’s the most I’ve had. I’ve been good about ownership so not too worried about having a “unique” lineup. Now to start the deep dive into what I’m looking for.

  • BrianVT

I think Broogsy will excel even more playing with Tiger and the crowds. He always likes being the underdog.
