Just looked at some ownership projections and Tiger and Molinari are both projected to be under 8%.

I know Tiger is expensive but he has won, gotten 2nd and 6th in the last 3 majors. He’s also leading in GIR and is top 10 in pretty much every key stat I am looking at. Molinari doesn’t seem like he’s played enough events to qualify in the stat categories but he won Arnold Palmer, came in 5th at the Masters after leading for much of the tournament and was excellent in Match Play.

If these projections hold I’m just going 30% on both of them and not even flinching.

Time change maybe, but the EURO guys are going to like China and Africa all the time so I’m not worried about it.

I think 2 of the euro guys finish in the top 20. I feel like they are under priced because they play on the euro tour.

Agree on Tiger, recent form is his best in a long time, can’t see fading him as I have done in the past, probably only 15% for me though.

Molinari, 51st in driving accuracy and 195th in GIR, just can’t seem to latch on to him this week, played a lot of him this year so far, but not getting the warm and fuzzies this week and just have him in one of 15 line ups.

Well after making some lineups it seems like I don’t need as many sub 7K guys as I thought. That doesn’t mean using them is not a viable strategy. Unfortunately each time I do it seems like it’s Kyle Stanley. What am I getting myself into?! I’m also begrudgingly using the Piercy CHALK a little more than I would like so far. If there is ever a tournament to go 150 this is it! I will not but I will certainly need more than 20. I got 7 done so far and haven’t used nearly as many guys as I would like so far. This is going to be a tough week.

Yeah, I mean the stats tell one story about Molinari for sure but hes only played 8 tournaments so the sample is small compared to some other guys.

He won, got 3rd in match play and had another 6th. I just think hes a gamer. If he was like 8800 instead on 9700 I’m sure he’d be higher owned.

I’m messing around with builds and you can get Tiger, Molinari, take 2 under 7k guys and still be able to get 2 great golfers in the 7500-8k range.

I’m actually playing way less lineups then I normally do because I have to get targeted otherwise I’ll end up with like 300 lineups since there are so many great combos.

Great point. If you were to play one/fade one between him and rose what would you do?

When you pay up for DJ, you are paying for fantasy points and at the Masters that means 4 birds and an Eagle each day (or multiple Eagles like he has done a few times).

Shocking stat of the year so far….DJ has a grand total of 3 eagles all year! I usually picture him dropping them left and right but not this year, though he does have an insane amount of birdies. For reference some other big names who have played similar number of events as DJ. Rory: 10 eagles in 3 fewer events, Koepka: 9 eagles in 1 fewer, Fowler 13 eagles in same number of events. Just a couple examples but I was surprised when I happened to notice how few DJ had this year.

Anyone else looking at putting on Poa? Does the Poa in the Northeast differ from the Poa on the West Coast?

I did notice that Rickie’s splits for putting on Poa are terrible.

Northeast POA this time of year is a lot less bumpy than the stuff they play on in California in Jan/Feb, so it is a little less useful than normal. Some people say you can use Poa and/or Bentgrass stats for a course like this (basically just non-Bermuda), but overall golfers have said the greens on this course run really true and aren’t actually super tough to putt on once you get to them, the difficult part of the course is avoiding the rough and making your approaches into these elevated greens with all the bunkers protecting them. Basically if you can get a GIR you probably will be at least saving your par, but it’s gonna be those scrambles and sand saves that really separate the leaderboard

I mean, in cash, play Rose. In small field GPPs if you are different in other spots, I’d play Rose.

But in large field GPPs, if someone like Molinari who actually has decent win equity is going to be 8%… I’d definitely have more Molinari then Rose.

2.09% in the Milly for The Masters.

Happy to have the “Big Dime” again so I can throw my YOLO lineups in them!!! I’m up to 13 lineups and don’t have half of what I want yet.

Anybody really liking Webb or too scared of him from previous letdowns? I really like him but would be lying if I said I had “faith” he will do well (T25 would be my consideration there).

Well said Dunzor. I would 100% agree with this. With all the rain there the last few days, there is a chance that the poa might grow a little throughout the days once the rain clears and could slow the greens down during the heat of the day a tad, but the bumpyness shouldn’t be an issue.

I won a $75 and $33 from the Master’s forum satty’s so I will donate to the cause. You could win too! Thanks for help setting this up, Coop! My $75/$33 TIX will be in play this week so I will, inevitably, make poor decisions, but fingers crossed!!!!

Satellites Are Back Satellites Are Back
For those of you who participated in the forum last year you may remember that we had a few satellite contests amongst the forum members which won you entry into bigger prized pool contests with fewer participants. Thanks to the DK community team we are able to bring these back this year. The plan is to have these satellite contests for the majors so you can use in the following major. Our ability to continue to receive these satellite contests will hinge on our ability to fill them.
In order to compete you must be a member of the RotoGrinders Golf Forum League. If you would like to be added just ask. This will also give you access to play in the weekly Happy Meal contest along with the beat the forum H2H contests, both setup by Timusbr.
This week for the PGA Championship we will be competing for tickets to be used for the US Open. The first satellite is for the $555 contest at the US Open. Last year this was a $444 contest with a prize pool of $750,000. I would imagine the prize pool this year to be around $800,000. The second satellite is for the $150 three max contest at the US Open. Last year the prize pool for this contest was $200,000. Both of these contests had less than 2,000 participants last year which is much better than competing against over 100,000 for a nice prize pool. We will also ha e satellite contests for the $75 3Max and $33 Single Entry.
Entry fee for the $555 is $6 and pays a ticket for the winner. Entry fee for the $150 is $5 and pays a ticket to first and second place. While some will find the entry fee steep for a satellite and the majority will not win, in the end we will have forum members competing in contests that many can’t enter. In addition we will be able to root on some members in what could be a great sweat for some big money. Finally, if you don’t think you can win, you are wrong. The aforementioned Happy Meal contest has had a different winner each week and has similar participant as these satellite contests.
    IMPORTANT
Some of these contests are set up as multi entry and you can multi enter immediately.
Hopefully we can have some fun with this and we see the winners do well at the Masters increasing there bankroll or even hitting a big payday! Questions, fire away. Thanks

For those in the great state of New Jersey. You should all have a free bet worth $5.14 in your sportsbook account today and special odds boosts throughout the day. Right now you can get Warriors to win the NBA title at +514. Tiger odds boost to +1500 and I saw Tiger -5 or better at +800 that looked interesting.
