It’s really not hard to come up with the same cash lineup as other people. Coincidence, in this case, is probably the explanation.

It’s also possible this is one of those default optimized lineups from any number of websites, but you didn’t provide much information.

  • elg26

Understand that but 3 usernames with same exact lineup out of 11 total entries??

They haven’t been for a while. People are just now starting to notice it. I can’t speak for whether or not they still do it, but two very high profile players have been doing this for all/most of the MLB season all the way down to the $1 level.

That’s lame…. especially when you aren’t a significant multi entry player. At least at multi entries you know what you are getting into…but in single entry it’s now worse….like you are getting scammed…

Well at least now I know I’m not going to enter any single tourneys with these 3 guys (who may only be 1 person for all we know)

    Multi-entry max limits are meaningless

Wasn’t going to post anything since censorship is out, but I am pretty sure they were just using the same “insert site here” builder and downloaded their files from different IPs.

    Just a coincidence.
Now a few posters will come in and will tell you that you cannot prove anything 100% and move on, nothing to see here.

What exactly would be the benefit of doing this? It would be ridiculously -EV to intentionally use the same lineup and enter an 11 man double up. As shown by the fact they those 3 “winning” lineups are only splitting 2 prizes.

There are a few scenarios possible.

    1) They actually just happened to build the same lineups. Not impossible considering there was a lot of mega chalk that almost every used. However still seems very unlikely since there not only the same players, but also in identical order, and they have a player that nobody else in the contest used.

    2) Could be a lineup generated by a LU generator. You could look at bigger double ups and see if that lineup is used elsewhere.

    3) Could be a bought lineup, although i dont think youdaco is in the business of buying lineups.

    4) They worked together to build the identical lineup, and just mistakenly entered the same contest.

I think #4 is by far the most likely scenario, but would have to look at more contests to see if the lineup was used by others, or if they entered any of the same contests together besides that one.

How is this any different than a 17-man or 20-man or X-whatever man train in single entry BUNT for MLB or single entry for NBA? Happens every day.

This is good stuff right here and those two have been reported multiple times to the integrity team. I am not allowed to use the term common knowledge so instead let’s go with many people know those two run identical cash game lineups night in and night out.

Some people will try to say the social aspect of talking with friends is allowed and I don’t disagree but to me there is a big difference between sharing ideas/thoughts and having the same lineup night after night

Well those 3 users…. (if they are 3 people or just 1 person with multiple accounts) youdacao…soupajaff..and madoublet98 cashed ….Their 3 entries tied for 4th and 5th.

After getting up this morning and thinking about ithe I have concluded:

    1. As stated above DK at this moment doesn’t care. I’m sure they could put software that could reject the 2nd identical lineup when entered in SMALL single entry tournaments. Cmon…in a 11 entry tournament like mine, how hard would that be? It would prevent these 3 from doing it….and make it first come first serve if there truly is an optimal lineup.

    2. Put up a sticky thread on the Rotogrinders main forum of DK…FD…etc usernames who enter SMALL single entry tournaments with identical lineups across multiple usernames. This list wouldn’t be to punish these users, but it would be used as a resource for people like me who use this Rotogrinders site to do better at DFS. It would tell what tourneys to avoid if you see that user in it. This would make Rotogrinders a much better resource.

    3. Even though I cashed in the tournament last night…. I still feel cheated. But more importantly now I feel I will never get a fair shake being a small number of entry player…. no matter what type of tournament I enter…AND THAT SUCKS!

As I’ve said before, players have to decide for themselves what to do because as much as I disagree with this type of behavior the sites seem to allow it.

I think it is absurd that players can seemingly team up and run trains in cash games to basically limit the amount of lineups they have to beat. However, as upset as it makes me, I still play on DK and will continue to do so.

Know what you are getting into, ask yourself if you think it is worth playing, and do with that information what you may.

  • tarheel66

Ridiculous post, Maybe ehafner and Phantom072 are in collusion as are the other 3 guys who cashed. Why no complaining about haf and Phantom ? Been playing this DFS for about 4 years now and made okay money at it. I do not give a crap how many guys get together and come u with lineups, we all talk with our friends and very possible to come up with identical lineups. All the players used in those lineups are used in at least 27.3% of other lineups in that tourney. Why the complaint elg ? You cashed, you had the better lineup
