Yes. They priced some guys way up. Understandable. Then you have Stallings and Schwab for example priced as if its not some birdie fest. Those two I mentioned are very capable of ripping this course apart.

Edit: Chesson Hadley 6900. He has tons of upside on this type of track

Chesson Hadley and the word upside makes me shutter…but I like his upside this week lol…

Just opened up the $1 EURO British Masters Happy Meal.

Anyone else think it’s strange that Tommy Fleetwood decides now to play the 3M Tournament rather than play at home in England?

No he literally cannot play the British Masters if he wants to play WGC next week and the PGA Championship in 2 weeks.

There’s a mandatory 14 day quarantine for athletes from other countries. So if Tommy played in Europe this week, he wouldn’t be able to play here in the US the next two weeks.

However, with that said, according to his wife, Tommy’s quarantine consisted of him playing Shinnecock Hills every day so I guess this “quarantine” that’s “mandatory” is just for “show”. But I’m sure although he may have been allowed to practice in the Hamptons, the PGA tour would not have allowed him to play in actual tournaments.

So yea prices affect my final decision but not looking at them now removes any biases in my rankings.

Yes, making a decision on some guys based on pricing mis-alignments with where you think they should be. I do the same thing. I wouldn’t think any model looks at prices – you’re just trying to rank everyone. Then, after that, you figure out what can fit in a lineup, and that’s where value comes into play.

Tommy is most likely using this event just to get in form for WGC and the PGA Championship, as the 3M just happened to fall on the schedule.

However, the thing is he’s so talented he can easily top 5 this event despite using it as a warmup.

So I’m not going to discount him even if he may be prioritizing next two weeks more. He’s also playing in some charity event today with Paul Casey, Kyle Rudolph (the TE for the Vikings who never gets me any FPs when I choose him), Wolff, and a few others. So we’ll see how he does in that.

Yea it sucks for a lot of top British players. I’m sure Matthew Fitzpatrick would want to play in the British Masters too, but then he wouldn’t be able to play WGC next week, so he also cannot play despite being a former Champion in the event.

This tournament will really just boil down to who hits their balls in the water or not to miss or make the cut or put themselves out of contention on Sunday.

Unsure how to link but if you get on Twitter and search for Timothy Frank he has a chart with last years results and current form

I think I’ll be on Hadley some as well. He just needs to avoid the water, which he seems to gravitate towards

Wow a lot of good players have WD over the past day from the original list of players in the Field.

    Hubbard
    Hughes
    N Taylor
    Conners
    Kokrak
B Todd plus a couple others all WD

The replacements are not very viable guys to take for DFS – this field got a bit more top heavy

I wonder why this is the case. I would imagine unless you’re top rank and well know with a lot of endorsement deals, the rest of these guys make their livings from these and given how many tournaments got cancelled already and you never know if there’s going to to be any flare up and more shutdown, you would think they will want to play as many tournaments as possible. Maybe just tired?

  • stellagirl

Do these players get any kind of stipend for travel, lodging, food, etc, or does showing up for a tournament come out of their own pocket?

Sorry to bring up Euro again, but Suri 7500?? That is kinda nuts to me. Guy has been a staple in my euro lines when he was priced 9k and above!

Was hoping to play Adam Hadwin. Finished 4th last year. Wonder why he’s skipping. I guess a lot of them have played too much lately.

    if Professional golfers have:
    mental stress
    fatigue

I think playing the last 2 weeks could be an excuse.

lets say a guy has played 4 in a row or 5 of the 6 events since restart and played last weekend. I might guess that they are candidates for being “tired”. Playing in the “BUBBLE” has got to have restrictions. added complications to weeks in a row theorists.

IDK, I never followed the weeks of play in a row theory, but I think that something about it is true.
