Watching Compass Challenge now. I’m not sure I can play Wolff ever again. He’s so annoying

  • Herf

My lineups look awful. I’ve made money the past few weeks and my streak will prolly end this week. Lol.

Winner/Top 5: Lucas Glover, Harris English
    Fade: Finau, Watson
    Sleeper: All the Power, Frittelli

It’s getting dark, I have 12 reserved lineups. have 6 cigs left, One 1 hitter filled with pot, too much beer, and basically no direction except for a couple of fades…….. I shall overcome.

except for only 6 cigs left, not the best evening i could think of but far from the worst.

My only problem with this is letting him go the night before the tournament. Tells me there is a lot of emotion involved. I have never had to fire someone but I could imagine it is not a pleasant experience. Still, for the most part I agree. A great golfer will win no matter who carries his bag

I think this move was made a couple days ago and only became public this morning. I’m guessing Tony took a day off and didn’t even show up in Minny until Tuesday and it probably took Boyd (his swing coach and new caddie) an extra day to get his stuff in order to fly up from Salt Lake City

I can’t wait to see the real ownership numbers tomorrow morning and see where the sheep were led this week.

It almost seems like intentional manipulation…lol

I subbed to this one site. Guy told me his dark horse was Vijay Singh. I might have to eat that chalk.

I know what you mean, ever since I stopped listening to the tout shows, and I listened a lot, I have done so much better. When you go back and review the text of the conversations they offer, all they try to do is mention as many names as possible in the most ambiguous ways, so they can take the winner and claim “see, we talked about him” blah blah pass on the Mayonnaise thank you very little

Do you see that a lot? Say someone like Mayo references “middle tier guy x” at 15% and popular, do you ever see the number grow based on fishes skimming towards the “hot play”?

    Long time players…

How often does a 2 star, 4 “scrub” lineup actually win? Do you ever really see (using this tourny as an example) DJ, Fleetwood, middle type type, 3 scrubs ever win? I fee like you need so much to go right to make that even work.

your right everything has to go right. but if your going to win a gpp everything has to go right.

its possible to get the right (3 scrubs and middle) its possible to get right 4 players @ 7K average
its even possible that at the end of Friday your 4/6 with the studs MC

Nah, The past winner is always going to garner ownership without being social media touted – I’m more interested in ownership of the stat anomaly guys who pop this week on the touts models.

I get that everything has to go right. But if you nail the top 2 studs (say one guy wins, other goes top 4), youre basically then banking on inferior talent to make the cut and stay competitive against superior talent. Obviously with 100k entries in a tourny you need luck up the wazoo, but I didn’t know if a specific method had been proven to work better.

    Fleetwood looks really good

I love how BiF dangles that sheep thing…..Bahhhhh Bahhhhh. Can I help it if I liked the same golfers people talk about? By the way, who is not fit to be decently owned? I think we have 50 or so people waiting for that answer :)

Still grinding thru my process and catching up on a week’s worth of material as I played a lot of golf this week.

I do know that I’m off Koepka for sure and I don’t really like too many of the touted punts that people have mentioned on here.

I will have some interest in Piercy, Gordon and Merritt who might have some ownership but not super chalky.

  • badtrip

    Hey there Mr. Biff,
Who is at the low end that needs a good week to keep their card? KF aggressive guy that wants to be here? And the Euro that needs the points?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Bye Matt Hello Tommy

  • Steverino01

I normally only play a few lineups each week. Seeing how this is kind of a boring tourney, at least the overall field is, I decided to try doing 20 lineups this week. I chickened out on maxing the $3 being my first time doing this and didn’t want to stress myself out, so I just maxed the quarter and dime and played a bunch of milly satty’s. 20 lineups with 5 entries each for $19 total and then throw in the $1 for the Happy Meal. I’m kind of excited to see how I do with this and if I lose $20, no big deal.

I have a 26 player pool and feel it’s a bit too big, but some players are very low owned (10%). I’m not tinkering this week, but for future reference, what kind of player pool do you play when doing 20 lineups?

Wolff’s projected ownership has plummeted through the week due to the lack of love from the touts. Same with Tony.

  • sneaksox

Please let Hadley be 20%+ owned this week. I have one person on my never again list and it’s that clown. His stats always pop yet he disappoints more than any other player with those stats, it’s why he’s never been more than $7,200 even in the weakest of fields. If he wins, or even top 10s, I’m good with it.

I usually listen to the Fantasy Golf Degenerates podcast driving into work on Tuesday cause its about as long as my drive is and i write down all the name that Kenny Kim and Tyler Tamboline mention (and i dont mean like every name they just casually drop) i mean names they claim to have interest it. Tyler was at 30 and Kenny was at about 25ish. They name drop like crazy, and i get that they have to in order to keep people interested but i just feel like you said, they basically dont skip a single golfer

I don’t think Hadley is a bad play in this field for $6900. I’ve been wrong before though.

5+ years of grinding and I’ve never listened to a tout/podcast – I know how the business works and I don’t need those things buzzing around my head when I’m trying to make my decisions – tried once to watch Mayo and made it through about 10 minutes and I’ve also watched about 20 minutes of Wiley’s periscope show but otherwise this has been a solo mission.

This is also why I try to nail down 90+% of my player pool on Sunday night well before the salaries come out so I’m not overly influenced by price or things I hear/see during the week.
