disclaimer: I always complain, this isn’t just complaining, looking for a relevant suggestion.

This season I’ve looked to sign up for more than DK and FD.
Back in the day when I signed up for both I had insane massive issues lasting multiple calendar years getting my address validated; the address/ID not being recognized/validated (living rural in Canada’s smallest province has it’s DFS issues), and in relation to that, the validation system has no override, so if for whatever reason the program doesn’t accept the ID and the support agent can see the ID is fine, there’s no escalation process to the denial.
Anyways, season removed, resolution, and I wanted to branch out.
Tried signing up to a couple other sites couple weekends ago (fantasydraft, Yahoo, and MKF) and once again I’m being met by my address not being validated. Already maxed out my attempts and making it’s me send in an ID. It’s the same program. I’m not getting into the amount of hoops I have to jump through/boxes I have to check in order to find out it can’t be validated because there’s a shadow on my ID that isn’t there, or my street/street address doesn’t exist.
Has anyone been through this and well and found some way out of it? Is there another route that may be less efficient but isn’t dependant on and held hostage to a computer program, like mail?

Have you tried reaching out to Daniel Haight at Yahoo directly?

I have not, that was the purpose of the post though, to draw attention to the fantasydraft and yahoo reps on here. I knew they were here just not sure exactly who.
For whatever reason tho nobody ever wants to touch validation issues, so I was more hoping another user had this issue as well and found a reasonable alternative.
Thanks for the response though, appreciated.

I’m a little confused. Are you talking about a physical address problem or an IP address problem (Internet Protocol address, i.e. the fantasy sites can’t identify your correct login location)?

If the latter, since you live in a sparsely populated area of rural Canada I assume you have satellite internet? If this is the case, there is a solution (on your end, not with the fantasy sites). If it’s a physical address problem, I have no suggestions.

EDIT: Just to cut to the chase if in fact your problem is with your IP address, and you have satellite, your ISP (Internet Service Provider) has likely assigned you a dynamic IP address instead of a static IP address. Not to get too “techie”, a dynamic IP address will change each time you sign-in on the internet; and a static address will not. For our purposes, the important thing to remember is dynamic IP address will not accurately identify a user’s physical location and, depending on the provider/satellite, your IP address may appear to be hundreds, if not thousands, of miles away from your actual physical location. On the other hand, a static IP address never changes (hence “static”), meaning every time you sign-on to the internet your address will be the same.

Thus, if this is your problem, the only real solution is to contact your ISP and ask them to give you attach/assign a static IP address to your router AND to make sure that the IP address accurately/correctly identifies your exact physical location. Depending on the provider, this may or may not be possible …. More bad news? It will likely (definitely) increase your monthly bill because you will no longer be sharing a bunch of randomly assigned addresses with a bunch of other users, but instead you will have your very own unique address.

I appreciate everything you noted, really thanks for putting in the time.

However it’s my physical address, and our provincial ID has shading on it that throws off the validation program. It literally doesn’t recognize where I am, so I have to upload the ID which won’t work, then contact support over and over while they make me complete tasks to ensure I’ve done everything. Like, they can all see that I’m in a real place with a real ID, but they were/are powerless to override it.

I just don’t have the time anymore, it’s so not worth it. They want my money I’ll gladly give ‘em it, but I’m not working THAT hard to give it away lol
