Entered $40 worth of contests and won just under $700.
Best fantasy day I’ve ever had.
Premier league lives up to its dramatics. If Lampard doesn’t score the 85th minute goal Chelsea keeper and Defenders get clean-sheet/Win and I’d be way down.
    Took 3rd x2 and a couple other top 20-40’s.
I’ll probably be doing a write up next week on players to pick.

  • RangerC

Well I won and got 3rd in the Sunday only $27 ( + $700 for the 2 days). Unfortunately Howard/Bony/Coleman not starting killed all my good lineups in the big $27 (especially since I swapped Bony in for Ulloa in at least one lineup- OUCH). With the scoring seems like central defenders are horrible and Baines is a must start as he takes pens and free kicks from DEF. Hope they keep the guarantees for a while.

PLEASE save the larger GPP’s for the Champions league slates? Sort of like Golf and Majors. All games on TV, all start at the same time (for the most part), and the majority of your customer base will be awake! Hell, it will even pay out before the MLB, NHL, NBA slates for those nights so win/win!

    I agree with Alsmizzle

Hopefully they can be at least same size. I think CL will be more popular than BPL in the long run

CL will appeal to the many players not BPLcentric and, to Al point…. I am on the west coast and, although usually up and about and watching games, Sunday especially is a bit tough with LUs

  • poopdollar

Champions League will be a shitshow, so much harder to track players from multiple leagues.

  • cjhopkins07

Champions League has more of an edge. Watching EPL games you will learn players, team tactics/approaches in different matchup types. CL i am really looking forward to because not many people follow all the random leagues around europe and the smaller teams and its much harder to just get the information. Thats where a pre-existing knowledge comes in. I used to follow all that stuff when i lived in the UK because there was money to be made betting on the foreign games if you knew where to look. Particularly in single players. Hopefully UCL proves popular. Its a hugely entertaining tournament to watch with all the star power, should draw people in.

  • sjfx19

Messi and Ronaldo alone will bring in more people, even if it’s just because there are a few more names they recognize.

  • funkytoejam

EPL virgin. Pretty sure I’m going to love DFS EPL. Just feels so good.

  • funkytoejam

What’s a good site for reliable lineup info? Here at some point?

  • poopdollar

rotoworld posts lineups before games, http://formation-y.com/en/league/premier_league.html has most teams typical formation and projected starters. Basically you need to spam search twitter with teamname xi 1hr before game time.

  • poopdollar

Also I’ll be working on a site where I’ll try to compile lineups from twitter before game time since I don’t feel like giving rotogrinders free content w/ no sort of compensation and not being able to link my referral.

BPL twitter feed posts official lineups when available (1 hours to 15 minutes before game) including changes (such as Alexis Sanchez)

Just follow the Premier League twitter feed and you will be fine.

Is not really more complicated than this :)

Ahhh this is great! Unfortunately, I missed out on the tourney’s this week. The DFS world cup tourney’s were great. Glad to see them keeping it up with EPL and the Champions League. Twitter is definitely the best way to go when it comes to lineups, injuries, etc. What’s everyone doing for stats?

Yea, I believe the Champs League slates will be more popular (atleast until football is done)

I cashed both my $27 teams with Lukaku, Baines, and Di Maria on all. Had Walbeck on one.

I just was off on my goalie selections this week (McGregor and Lloris). Thought I was in great shape with McGregor up 2-0 with 5 saves so far in the 60th minute. But then Castle finally found it’s ability to score. Cost me a shot at any big cashes. Lloris…….well…definitely a strange weekend…

Man U loses to Leicester. Although with Man U’s defensive struggles, that wasn’t a huge shock.

Tottie losing at home to West Brom was definitely a shocker. Tottie dominated the ball but did nothing with it, as West Brom still out shot them.

Everton loses at home to Crystal Palace. Tim Howard is not having a good season so far, although I’m not sure what Everton was doing with their lineup and shape. A lot of guys playing out of position it seemed for much of the game.

Interested to see what DK puts up for guarantees this Saturday now after a lot of overlay the opening weekend. This past weekend was a lot of fun. I wasn’t watching/following ALL of the EPL matches like that before.

My guess is that it will be just a Saturday slate but probably would not include the 7:45 AM Liverpool vs Everton game (although I hope it does).

So 7 other games on Saturday. Doubt they would include the individual Sunday/Monday games.

I’ve got a piece going up tonight on the DK Playbook detailing my weekend.

The series was coined “The Hospital Ball”, if you need a small preview.

  • Mekong83

Cashed 3 out of 4 in the $27 tourney, would have won more if Tim Howard didn’t make some boneheaded plays

  • Mhesters

I really want to get into this but the weekend games are going to kill me – West coast means early games start at 5am on Saturday – who the hell gets up at 4:30 to check line ups?

I need to figure out a way to make this work but 4:30am isn’t going to be it.

Schmizz, you are in California, did you actually get up to check these?

FWIW, we won’t have the early game Saturday, so it would be a 10am eastern/7am pac time this week.

Despite very limited exposure to Arsenal (scared of their midweek travel, plus Villa’s defense up til that point) and too much exposure to the Tottenham and Everton (less Lukaku/Baines) dumpster fires, still made money. So I’m happy.

Baines and DiMaria are pretty much auto-plays until further notice.

Do you know your plan re: Sunday/Monday since there’s only 1 game each?

  • Birnbach

Saturday slate (minus the Liverpool Derby… which stinks, but that early game is killer)
    Sunday-Monday 2 game slate

  • cjhopkins07

Love the Saturday only slate (sucks about Liverpool game but not much you can do there). I think this will draw more people in on Saturday too, safe in the knowledge they can play and get their payouts in time for MLB later that day of NFL on Sunday. It is a shame EPL doesn’t end an hour earlier on Sundays for those full weekend slates, would be perfect go get paid out with an hour and a bit to go before NFL locks, and you KNOW DK would love to get that money paid out in the knowledge that most people would plough it straight back into NFL. Alas, timing, that said, can’t wait for Saturday only.
