Because the “I lost because an employee might have seen my lineup in 2013 brigade” is in full force, along with the “That’s why I lost, because of the Policy & Procedures from 2012”. Two strong forces led by the Sour Grapes Coalition.

DFS has been great to my family and I. It has reunited me with a sport I use to love as a kid and has brought that love back and I still play everyday, and will continue to until it is illegal or however it plays out.

None of the behind the scenes stuff should matter. Who cares . Build a better Lu. If you lose your job don’t worry about it just build a better Lu. BBlu is the world cure.

Pricing is different, but draftkings have late swap. So it is was possible to get the inside info on a lineup and change the lineup accordingly as the day went on

inside info? everyone has access to the same late breaking news outlets (Rotoworld, Twitter etc)..

with that said, it looks really bad that they publicly said it was ok for their employees to play. to better there product, technology etc? thats a joke — this is exactly why the industry needs to be regulated.

It’s not at all possible that anybody got screwed by their policies. Either you suck or you suck. There is no possible other reason for losing.

Protecting shareholders often involves literally the opposite of giving employees perks. If you mean that the employees happen to also be shareholders, giving them perks in their capacity as employees does nothing to advance the cause of running the company in the best interests of its owners. Developing solid policies and procedures that will not be a legal or PR nightmare one day is 1000 times more important to protecting the company and shareholders than “giving employees perks.”

“Stakeholders” guys come on. Shareholders are for publicly traded companies. I’m gonna let you off with just a warning this time.

One of the major sports leagues (MLB I believe) said they were SHOCKED when they found out that employees of these companies would be allowed to play DFS at all. Rhetorically, I wonder why a sports league would react that way??

“We were surprised to learn that DraftKings allowed its employees to participate in daily fantasy games” was the phrase used. “SHOCKED” (all caps) feels like a bit of an exaggeration here. Why would a league react that way? To distance themselves from a potential scandal while not severing the relationship all-together.

Um, private corporations still have shares and shareholders is the right term, as it denotes ownership. Stakeholders, on the other hand, include anyone impacted by the business and its operations including customers, employees, shareholders, business partners, vendors, governement, etc..

I just had a (restricted) [in red] next to my username on Draftkings. A message then popped up saying I was in a restricted area but could still withdraw money. It didn’t include NY on that list though. Now I see nothing and it looks like I can enter contests. Anyone else have this? I’m assuming it’s still OK to enter for now?

I had it happen to me as well, Not in a restricted area (CT). Like yours, it’s gone now and it appears i can enter.

Question…….does anyone have the list of dfs sites a nyc resident can play legally ?

There are two possible answers to that question:

    (1) All of them.
    (2) None of them.

Unfortunately, we don’t know which of those two answers is correct at the moment.

  • HoodsFromTheWood

You know what really sucks. I can’t set a single lineup (NYC) but I still have to watch 20-25 STUPID DFS commercials

Can someone set the record straight re: the hearing next Wednesday? Will a bad outcome ultimately bring the industry to a halt with the departure of the NY state users?

  • KevBaile

Okay, just read through this entire cluster f of a thread, and didn’t see an answer to this question, so I’ll ask it:

Isn’t what the AG is now doing exactly what he SAID he would NOT do when he was getting the TRO denied?

No, he never said he would not do it.

    Yep.

  • AtGame7

At this point it’s not going to take an attorney general, the law offices of Dewey, Cheetum and Howe could get DFS shutdown.

Would anyone from the sites come on and explain the massive amount of incompetence that was allowed to run the show? Seriously, did FD really have offices or was just some guy named Ted running the site from his garage?

There was less nonsense in the Nixon administration.

No, he never said he would not do it.

I could swear I read a news story where he said he would take no action until the hearing, which basically mooted the need for the TRO. Don’t have time to dig around and find it though.
