There’s a lot of post showing up about this, and we are going to put them all in one thread. I know a lot of people have a lot of questions, but we don’t need a lot of threads talking about the same thing.

I’m watching ESPN and I just watched the first set of commercials in a month that didn’t include a fanduel or Draft kings add…

Currently my state is not on the radar but what happens if your state gets banned and you move? Dean was joking that people were saying he could stay with them for a while. But would it be as simple as just crossing a state line or would he need to get a new drivers license in a non banned state?

I live in Florida and if it gets banned, will I still be able to participate in free contests? I am currently in a season long league that uses draftkings every week for lineups

I would like an answer to this as well. Currently in a season long DFS league myself using free contest.

The commercial have in fine print that players in states that don’t allow DFS for cash, can still participate in the free games. Maybe that will allow the season leagues to continue.

You will need to provide a new state ID and a utility bill in your name to get your account reactivated according to most of the responses I’ve received. I hope to be relocated to CA from NV this week.

Can somebody provide a list of the current states that may be in trouble?

I get what your saying and I’m not playing, I’m hoping fanduel and draftkings go to bat to figure this all out as this mess was caused by a lot of different people not just one side.

Yes if you read the terms you’ve agreed to you’d know you’re only prevented from playing cash games.

If DFS were to be banned right now, is there any possibility that I wouldn’t be able to withdraw my funds from FanDuel?

Yes it’s possible. If the feds decided to file criminal charges against the sites they might freeze their assets. It happened with poker. Personally I don’t think it will happen but wtf do I know, I’m just some guy from Jersey.

My referral bonus is $150…it doesnt get released for another couple of weeks…I live in florida. If it gets banned before then, what happends to that money?

I would at least be cautious. Don’t forget what Black Friday did to the online poker world. It took some people 3-4 years to get paid their account balances.

I really don’t get how people compare with what’s going on with DFS to “Black Friday” which affected a tiny player base compared to online poker’s peak in 2005/2006. A MUCH better comparison would be with how the laws banning US transactions to online poker businesses in late 2006. THAT gutted the online poker player base and we all had months of warning. The exact same thing would happen with DFS. We would all see it coming and have plenty of time to get out.

The only reason why Black Friday screwed so many was because people were going under/around United States Federal laws that prohibited financial transactions between poker businesses and US banks. In reality, online poker players who played between 2006-Black Friday were playing with fire and pretty much got what they deserved… I still have empathy for them as an ex-online poker player but it wasn’t casual/hobby players who got hit it was greedy degenerates, pros, and wanna-be pros.
